Fifty-five cases of snakebite were retrospectively analysed for the indications use anti-snakevenom (ASV). Sixty-seven per cent patients received treatment with ASV. Of these, 47% had features systemic envenoming, 30% local envenoming and 22% no either or local. When WHO guidelines strictly applied, it was found that in 44% cases, ASV used without adequate indication.
