Purpose: To determine test-retest repeatability of microperimetry testing (MP) in choroideremia (CHM) subjects using standard and personalized stimulus grids. Methods: Fifteen CHM (28 eyes) underwent consecutive repeat examinations with the Macular Integrity Assessment (MAIA) microperimeter a (10°) customized macular grid adapted to individual pathology. Repeatability standard-grid mean (MS) point-wise (PWS) sensitivity was determined compared age-matched controls (seven eyes), PWS...
Abstract CRTC1::TRIM11 cutaneous tumor (CTCT) is a rare skin of uncertain differentiation. In the 49 reported cases, only four cases showed regional or distant metastasis, but follow‐up remains limited. Herein, we present case metastatic CTCT with ulceration, histological feature that has not been previously described. Emergomyces canadensis pulmonary infection was incidentally diagnosed in an asymptomatic patient suspected to have metastatic osteosarcoma. Molecular diagnosis imperative fungal identification given overlapping histopathological features with histoplasmosis. This report documents a case of isolated emergomycosis otherwise immunocompetent while discussing diagnostic and management pitfalls this emerging underdiagnosed infection.
Aims Plaque‐type blue naevi are rare melanocytic tumours presenting as large, pigmented plaques at birth or during childhood. There is a risk for malignant transformation, but no larger comprehensive studies exist and the diagnosis challenging, especially on limited biopsy material. The aim to describe clinicopathological features behaviour of disease more comprehensively. Methods results We retrieved eight plaque‐type naevi, (median = 7 cm; range 3–26) most frequently affecting scalp (four)...
The visual world is extremely complex, so unconscious mechanisms exist to autonomously direct attention objects with behavioral importance. One such mechanism – contextual cueing utilizes the context of a scene focus attention. Therefore, because information unconsciously influences human perception, its role in enabling individuals process scenes great interest. This study examined whether regarding change probability can facilitate identification. MATLAB and Psychophysics Toolbox Version 3...
