Yokukansan (YKS) is a traditional Japanese herbal medicine that increasingly being studied for its effects on neurodegenerative diseases. In our study, we presented novel methodology multimodal analysis of the YKS nerve cells. The measurements 3D refractive index distribution and changes performed by holographic tomography were supported with an investigation Raman micro-spectroscopy fluorescence microscopy to gather complementary morphological chemical information about cells influence. It...

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a therapeutic tool that uses the photobiochemical interaction between light and tissue. Its effectiveness controversial due to strong dependence on dosimetric parameters. In this work, we demonstrate digital holographic microscopy an effective label-free imaging technique analyze effects of LLLT biological cells, propose full methodology create correct synthetic aperture phase maps for further extensive, highly accurate statistical analysis. The proposed has...

Three-dimensional, quantitative imaging of biological cells and their internal structures performed by optical diffraction tomography (ODT) is an important part biomedical research. However, conducting analysis ODT images requires performing 3D segmentation with high accuracy, often unattainable available methods. Therefore, in this work, we present a new semi-automatic method, called ODT-SAS, which combines several non-machine-learning techniques to segment 2 types organelles: nucleoli...

In this work we present an interferometric approach to quantifying the bacterial growth medium diffusion through a biofilm pretreated with tested antibacterial agent. The effect of agents on Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 mature was by digital holographic microscopy and laser interferometry compared biological tests (spectrofluorimetric measurement pyocyanin pyoverdine production). It is shown that multimodal provides better determination cell eradication and/or degradation matrix forming biofilm.

Transmission optical coherence tomography (tOCT) is gaining interest for imaging biological samples; however, so far, quantitative phase information has not been directly obtained. This study introduces SOPHAST-OCT, an approach integrated 2D recovery in Off-Axis Full-Field Swept-Source tOCT. It uses phase-shifting to leverage OCT’s inherent changes between recorded interferograms. SOPHAST-OCT demonstrates promising agreement with the simulated ground truth phase. represents a first step...

Transmission optical coherence tomography (OCT) enables analysis of biological specimens in vitro through detection forward scattered light. Up to now, transmission OCT was considered as a technique that cannot directly retrieve quantitative phase and is thus qualitative method. In this paper, we present qtOCT, novel Unlike existing approaches, qtOCT allows for direct, easy, fast rigorous retrieval 2D integrated information from full-field swept-source measurements. Our method based on...

Tomographic phase microscopy (TPM) is one of the most widely used quantitative imaging techniques. It a non-invasive, label-free technique that allows high-resolution imaging. enables morphology living cell to be captured without chemical treatment, by using refractive index (RI) as contrast parameter image internal structures. In this paper, we demonstrate due fact biological cells are highly heterogeneous structures, it crucial use full volumetric data calculate average RI values samples...
