This study quantitatively investigates the fatigue cracking behavior of ultra-large particle size asphalt mixture (LSAM-50) under coupled temperature and stress effects. Fatigue tests were conducted across temperatures ranging from −15 °C to 35 levels (0.3–0.9 splitting tensile strength), with crack evolution tracked in real time using digital image correlation (DIC). Key parameters, including main length, density, curvature, fractal dimension, strain, analyzed characterize propagation....

This study investigates the resilient modulus of vertical vibration compacted cement-stabilized macadam (CSM). The reliability compaction method (VVCM) for CSM was verified. Then influences four factors on were studied and a prediction equation proposed. Subsequently, aggregate type, cement dosage, gradation initial ultimate moduli studied. Results show that compared to quasi-static-compaction method, VVCM has smaller influence optimum water content gradation, specimens have higher...

In this study, the fatigue performance of cement-stabilized crushed gravel (CSCG) is examined. The mechanical strength CSCG specimens formed using vertical vibration compaction method (VVCM) or quasi-static (QSCM) compared with that field core samples (FCS). Cylindrical VVCM are used to study splitting performance, and a equation established Weibull distribution. factors influence namely gradation cement content, also analyzed. results show correlation between FCS as high 90%, whereas QSCM...

In this study, stone mastic asphalt (SMA-13) mixtures were designed using three methods, namely the vertical-vibration testing method (VVTM), Marshall method, and superpave gyratory compactor (SGC). The performances of SMA-13 by all methods measured compared. Results show that optimal content mixture was 5% lower in VVTM-designed than Marshall-designed SGC-designed asphalts mixture. comparison with Marshall- mixture, exhibited higher density (2.4% 2.2% increase, respectively), mechanical...

In this paper, a novel crack detection method is proposed based on the digital image of building external wall. We strive to record wall surface condition accurately, and then get linear characteristics for recognition. This paper first does edge detection, binary adaptive threshold removal isolated points, obtaining effective characteristics. Finally we distinguish cracks normal lines through curve fitting its parameter analysis. The experimental results are satisfactory.
