In this paper, a novel crack detection method is proposed based on the digital image of building external wall. We strive to record wall surface condition accurately, and then get linear characteristics for recognition. This paper first does edge detection, binary adaptive threshold removal isolated points, obtaining effective characteristics. Finally we distinguish cracks normal lines through curve fitting its parameter analysis. The experimental results are satisfactory.
