Taurine and substituted taurines were synthesized efficiently from aziridines via ring-opening reaction with thioacetic acid, oxidation performic hydrolysis in hydrochloric acid. The current method shows more benefit purification efficiency the preparation of taurine structurally diverse 2-substituted, 2,2-disubstituted, 1,2-, 2,2-, 2,N-alkylene taurines.

Phytochemical investigation of the rhizomes and roots Ligularia veitchiana afforded a new triterpenoid saponin two known neolignans named liguveitoside B (1), citrusin A (2) (3), respectively. This is first demonstration occurrence 8-O-4’ neolignan second report on isolation in genus Ligularia. Their structures were elucidated basis spectral data, particularly HSQC, HMBC NOE experiments.
