The search for new materials with properties suitable specific applications has increased the number of research studies to fill market demands. development polymer composites by addition inorganic fillers poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) increases potential use this in various application fields. main objective work was study rheological and mechanical behavior obtained from silica two different types PMMA matrix: a common (PMMAc) an elastomeric copolymer (PMMAel). results showed that...

In this work, the properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/alumina composites prepared by melt blending were evaluated. Two types alumina used: one, that was synthesized (ALS) combustion reaction method, and other is commercially available (ALC). Extrusion proved to be a good processing technique for obtaining PMMA/alumina composites. containing ALC presented higher average particles size. The addition PMMA substantially decreased wear index increased scratch resistance. mechanical ALS...
