Aim. The aim of this study was to identify the presence H. pylori in biopsy specimens from symptomatic patients by PCR. In addition, rate cagA, vacA, iceA1, and iceA2 virulence genes determined. Materials Methods. One hundred antral gastric were collected during endoscopy suffering gastroduodenal symptoms. samples gastroenterologists their own clinics Ramallah, Palestine. DNA extracted biopsies subsequently used for PCR identification using specific primers. Results. positive 44%. rates...
Cobalamin (vitamin B12), an essential vitamin with low oral bioavailability, plays a vital role in cellular functions. This research aimed to enhance the absorption of B12 using sublingual mucoadhesive tablets by increasing residence time drug at administration site. involved preparation different 50 mg placebo formulas methods. Formulas disintegration times less than one minute and appropriate physical characteristics were incorporated into 1 cyanocobalamin (S1-S20) direct compression...
Background: Recently, associations of the human papillomavirus (HPV) with head and neck cancer have become well established. Of particular concern, severity pathological outcomes squamous cell carcinomas are remarkably affected by genotypes HPV present in such lesions. This study was conducted to investigate occurrence genotypes, particularly high risk 16 18, among oral laryngeal Jordan. Methods: During period May 2015 March 2016, we evaluated a total 108 paraffin-embedded tissue samples,...
Arum palaestinum is a wild edible plant that belongs to the Araceae family and grows in different regions of Middle East. The present study aimed investigate chemical composition bioactivities A. spadices utilizing GC/MS analysis non-polar fraction, MTS assay as well membrane stabilization disk diffusion tests on various methanolic extracts. Twelve known compounds from fraction were characterized by analysis. spathe extract exhibited maximum inhibition activity...
Molecular characterization of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolates in three different Arab world countries (West Bank Palestine, Jordan, and Iraq) was the aim study presented here. This is done on basis spa sequencing staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) typing. The majority (92%) spa-tested belonged to type t932 possessed III. These data suggest that MRSA clone, which harbors III, had been transferred throughout studied countries.
Introduction: Helicobacter pylori is a major cause of more than 80% chronic active gastritis and other gastrodeudonal diseases worldwide. Successful treatment H. routinely requires the use multiple agents with different mechanisms including compounds inhibiting acid secretion in conjunction antibiotics. However, recent data showed emergence resistant clinical strains particularly against metronidazole clarithromycin. The aim this study to determine prevalence susceptibility isolates...
Abstract Background: Neisseria gonorrohoeae is an exclusive human pathogen that primarily infects the urogenital epithelia. Infections caused by N. gonorrhoeae are considered second major cause of sexually transmitted disease after Chlamydiae worldwide. Although urethra and uterine cervix serve as initial sites for gonococcal infections in men women, infection conjunctiva, pharynx, tendons, joints, well rectal mucosa also reported. Objectives: The objectives this study were to introduce...
It has been long described the major role of Propionibacterium acnes in pathogenesis acne vulgaris disease. There is increasing evidence that particularly persistent, relapsing and difficultto-treat infections caused by P. are associated with emergence drug resistant strains. The aim this study to evaluate potential antimicrobial effects Camel milk derived proteins peptides against micro broth dilution assay. Here, we show peptidoglycan recognition PGRPs possess strongest activity as compared...
Drug design and development to overcome antimicrobial resistance continues be an area of research due the evolution microbial mechanisms necessity for new treatments. Natural products have been used since dawn medicine heal skin infections. The properties fusidic acid, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate studied are well known. Furthermore, these compounds different action in targeting microorganisms, either by inhibiting protein synthesis or bacterial cell walls. Therefore, their combination is...
Sulfotransferases (SULTs) family plays a significant role in the biotransformation of variety xenobiotics and endogenous compounds by which carcinogenesis mutagenicity different malignancies are increasingly affected. Recent data identified various genetically polymorphic SULTs enzymes with variations enzyme activity. This study aimed to investigate impact SULT1A1 gene polymorphism its potential risk on females breast cancer Jordan using PCR-RFLP Sanger Sequencing methods. The analysis...
Brucellosis is an endemic disease of the small ruminants in Palestine, posing a big threat to humans due its zoonotic character. The rapid detection main goal case outbreak order implement specific control policy. In brucellosis, fast must offset impairment "test and slaughter" policy caused by financial burden. The aim this study was develop accurate molecular techniques detect Brucella sheep goat milk.Recently, has been reported Qibbiya (small village Ramallah district) counting 11 adult...
The present study was undertaken to characterize the prevalence and molecular distinguishing of Brucella melitensis field vaccine Rev1 strains isolated from milk among sheep goat population. carried out on flocks goats suffering infection outbreaks. A total 171 samples were collected different districts West Bank, part Palestine, agar. 86 cultures confirmed by standard biochemical methods screened for 16M IS711 element a conventional PCR technique. All these also amplified omp2 gene identify...
