Quercetin is a strong antioxidant and major dietary flavonoid. Epidemiological studies suggest that consumption of quercetin protects against cardiovascular disease, but its absorption in man controversial. We fed nine subjects single large dose onions, which contain glucose conjugates quercetin, apples, both non‐glucose glycosides, or pure quercetin‐3‐rutinoside, the glycoside tea. Plasma levels were then measured over 36 h. Bioavailability from apples rutinoside was 30% relative to onions....

Flavonols are dietary antioxidants which may prevent coronary heart disease. To be able to study absorption of flavonols in humans, we developed a postcolumn derivatization with aluminum for HPLC fluorescence detection. Variables governing chelation, such as water content, buffer, organic modifier the eluent, concentration Al(3+), presence acetic acid reagent, and temperature, were studied optimized. Of flavonoids, only that contain free 3-hydroxyl 4-keto oxygen binding site form fluorescent...

Abstract A liquid chromatographic method for determining low aflatoxin M1 concentrations in milk was evaluated an International Dairy Federation (IDF) interlaboratory study. The study involved 16 participants from 11 countries. method, chosen after a comparison of several methods by preparatory group, uses immunoaffinity column cleanup. As the sample passes through column, antibodies selectively bind with (antigen) present and form antibody-antigen complex. All other components matrix are...

Resilience is an important concept to determine how well a Dutch Emergency Response Safety Region behaves under stress. The main objective of this study the intrinsic value “resilience” for Regions. In it concluded that can be best described by generic approach “operational resilience”. A large scale survey among safety stakeholders in Netherlands was conducted where following items describing operational resilience were explored: situation awareness ( awa); management keystone...

An emergency response organization is resilient when it learns from and well equipped to handle (potential) risks hazards. In this paper, we will address the organizational resilience fit for Dutch organizations (safety regions) in relation various types of crisis. The approach presented paper based on a quantitative model. We validated model by means survey conducted among employees safety regions. survey, queried how perceive different attributes related set crisis types. used results...
