Background Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) is a promising noninvasive method of detecting coronary artery disease (CAD). However, most data have been obtained in selected series patients. The purpose the present study was to investigate accuracy 64-slice MSCT (64 MSCT) daily practice, without any patient selection. Methods and Results Using angiography (CTA), 69 consecutive patients, 39 (57%) whom had previously undergone stent implantation, were evaluated. mean heart rate during scan...

Deformation-induced martensitic transformation that rapidly occurs generally leads to a significant reduction in elongation of metastable austenitic steels, particularly at low temperatures. However, we proved the ultrafine-grained 304 stainless steel is an exception. Using hybrid method situ neutron diffraction and digital image correlation, found this material exhibits Lüders deformation after yielding, which behavior changes from cooperation mechanism involving dislocation slip one...

Epicardial fat volume (EFV) has been implicated in coronary artery disease. Relationship between EFV and plaque vulnerability not elucidated. The aim of this study was to investigate the association with by using optical coherence tomography (OCT).We enrolled 117 patients who underwent multislice computed (MSCT) OCT. quantified on MSCT. Patients were categorized according tertiles EFV: low tertile, < 104.1 cm(3); mid-tertile, cm(3)≤ ≤ 130.7 high > cm(3). A total 180 vessels 221 plaques...

We demonstrated ultrasensitive detection of ozone using single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) networks directly grown on a conventional sensor substrate. Ozone was detected down to the ppb level (∼6 ppb) at room-temperature operation with fast response. Using an electrical breakdown technique, gas sensitivity improved. This result clearly indicates that owing its high sensitivity, simplicity in fabrication and compact size, SWNT provides feasible route surpassing existing methods.

We demonstrated highly sensitive detection of carbon monoxide (CO) down to 1 ppm at room temperature using platinum-decorated single-walled nanotubes (Pt-SWNTs). The obtained sensitivity CO was 3–4 orders higher than the values reported for functionalized SWNTs, and achieved by controlled deposition Pt nanoparticles on SWNTs. For 1–10 CO, sensor response linearly increased with concentration, affording quantitative in a low-concentration range. Furthermore, Pt-SWNTs exhibited selectivity...

In this study, the peening behavior of shot particles in a fine particle (FPP) process such as velocity and impact angles were analyzed by using high-speed-camera. Results showed that depended on pressure; higher pressure, velocity. The measured study was approximately 120 m/s; much than conventional (SP) process. This because air resistance FPP SP order to discuss surface modification effect process, commercial-grade pure iron treated characterized micro-Vickers hardness tester scanning...

Ge/Si heterojunctions are formed by wet wafer bonding at annealing temperatures of 250 or 350 °C. Photodiodes fabricated using exhibit photocurrents flowing over the heterojunction with an internal quantum efficiency higher than 80% wavelengths between 1000 and 1550 nm. The measured photocurrent–voltage capacitance–voltage characteristics reveal that electrical property is same as for samples temperature annealing.
