The study of xylanase production was conducted by Streptomyces viridosporus T7A in submerged (SmF) and solid-state fermentation (SSF), using agro-industrial residues sub-products. Napier grass, sugarcane bagasse soybean bran were used as carbon source, substrate/support, nitrogen respectively. In SmF, grass (1% v/w) supplemented with bran, hydroxyethylcellulose B complex vitamins used. Soybean (1.5 % w/v), (0.1%), hydroxyethilcellulose (0.15%) led to an increase (23.41 U/mL). SSF, the...

Increasing phosphorus (P) use efficiency in agricultural systems is urgent and essential to significantly reduce the global demand for this nutrient. Applying phosphate-solubilizing plant growth-promoting bacteria rhizosphere represents a strategy worthy of attention. In context, present work aimed select validate bacterial strains capable solubilizing phosphorous promoting maize growth, aiming develop microbial inoculant be used Brazilian agriculture. Bacterial from were evaluated based on...

Aedes aegypti is the vector of Dengue disease, responsible for 20,000 deaths/year worldwide. Bacillus thuringiensis var israelensis - Bti releases selective and effective toxins (crystal proteins) against A. larvae. We present a low cost bioprocess toxin production, accomplished by selected Brazilian strain (BR-LPB01) employment substrates. Soybean meal sugarcane molasses lead to high toxic effectiveness after 2L bioreactor fermentation (LD50=26ng/mL), near reference IPS82 (LD50=17.3 ng/mL)....

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the occurrence anti-Leishmania spp. antibodies in dogs from localities city Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná state, Brazil, on border with Argentina and Paraguay. Blood samples were collected perform following serologic tests: immunochromatographic DPP® rapid test, indirect immunoenzymatic assay (ELISA) immunofluorescence (IFA). In 2012, 285 analyzed border, 2013, serum 396 Paraguay collected. Using ELISA for screening IFA confirmatory results showed...

The aim of this study was to confirm the emergence canine visceral leishmaniasis among dogs in Foz do Iguaçu. disease diagnosed through isolation and molecular identification Leishmania infantum. In first sample collection stage (2012), three lymph node aspirates 46 buffy coat samples were obtained mostly from that seroreagents for leishmaniasis. second (2013), collected 376 located close Paraguay, Paraná river, center peripheral parts city. DNA six isolates, four sampling (4/49) two...
