Abstract In this work, we present the synthesis of multi-phase MoO 3 –MoS x (Mo–O–S) nanostructure as an outstanding photocatalyst through straightforward hydrothermal method. We present the synthesis of Mn-doped zinc sulfide (Mn:ZnS) nanoparticles (NPs) using co-precipitation method. The X-ray diffraction pattern analysis revealed that Mn:ZnS NPs possess a cubic phase belonging to group with an average crystal size ranging from 2.8 nm 3.8 nm. photoluminescence and excitation spectra demonstrated Mn2+ band transitions at 395 nm, 430 468 486 492 605 for 6A1(6S)→4E(4D), 6A1(6S)→4T2(4D), 6A1(6S)→4A1(4G)–4E(4G), 6A1(6S)→4T1(4G)-4E(4G), 6A1(6S)→4T2(4G), 4T1(4G)→6A(6S)...
