Abstract This study presents taxonomic description of two novel diesel-degrading, psychrophilic strains: Kopri-42 T and Kopri-43, isolated during screening oil-degrading psychrotrophs from oil-contaminated Arctic soil. A preliminary 16S rRNA gene sequence phylogenetic tree analysis indicated that these strains belonged to the genus Flavobacterium , with nearest relative being psychrolimnae LMG 22018 (98.9% similarity). The pairwise identity between Kopri-43 was 99.7%. DNA-DNA hybridization...
EUS-guided biliary drainage (EUS-BD) is a feasible procedure when ERCP fails, as percutaneous transhepatic BD (PTBD). However, little known about patient perception and preference of EUS-BD PTBD.An international multicenter survey was conducted in seven tertiary referral centers. In total, 327 patients, scheduled to undergo for suspected malignant obstruction, were enrolled the study. Patients received decision aids with visual representation regarding techniques, benefits, adverse events...
Fifteen isolates of the genus Pedobacter were obtained from Arctic soil samples. All Gram-stain-negative and rod-shaped. Cells strictly aerobic, psychrotolerant grew optimally at 15-20 °C. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that all isolated strains formed a lineage within family Sphingobacteriaceae clustered as members Pedobacter. The sole respiratory quinone was MK-7 major polar lipid phosphatidylethanolamine. cellular fatty acids summed feature 3 (iso-C15 :...
A bacterial strain, designated 5N26(T), was isolated from an agricultural soil cultivated with Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris). Cells of this strain were Gram-reaction-negative, strictly aerobic, motile, non-spore-forming rods, and catalase- urease-negative. The major fatty acids 5N26(T) C16 : 0 (7.5 %), C18 1 2-OH (13.4 %) summed feature 8 (C18:1ω6c and/or C18:1ω7c; 63.2%). polar lipid profile contained diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine,...
Aquifer microcosms were used to determine how ethanol and methyl-tert-butyl ether (MtBE) affect monoaromatic hydrocarbon degradation under different electron-accepting conditions commonly found in contaminated sites experiencing natural attenuation. Response variability was investigated by using aquifer material from four with exposure history. The lag phase prior benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) typically shorter previously material, although previous did not always result...
A bacterial strain, designated strain G-1-1-14 T , was isolated from Kyonggi University forest soil during a study of previously uncultured bacterium. The cells were motile by means peritrichous flagella, Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped, and able to grow autotrophically with hydrogen fix nitrogen. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that belonged the genus Azohydromonas . closest species ureilytica UCM-80 (98.4% similarity), lata IAM 12599 (97.5%), riparia UCM-11...
Two bacterial strains involved in syntrophic degradation of chloroacetamide herbicide butachlor were isolated from a rice paddy soil. Analysis 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that the two isolates related to members genera Mycobacterium and Sphingobium, respectively. Thus, pair consisted sp. J7A Sphingobium J7B could rapidly degrade (100 mg L(-1)) at 28 °C within 24 h, while each isolate alone was not able completely butachlor. The observed grow slightly on butachlor, possibly utilizing...
A novel strain designated 11G32T was isolated from an agricultural soil cultivated with Chinese cabbage in Korea. The cells were Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-motile and rod-shaped. grew at 15–28 °C (optimum, 20 °C), pH 5.0–7.0 5.0–6.0) without NaCl. Phylogenetically, the found to be closely related members of genus Reyranella showed 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities 97.18, 96.76 95.99 % graminifolii Wo-34T, massiliensis 521T soli KIS14-15T, respectively. major fatty acids C19 : 0...
Abstract Context The upregulation of TRIB3 (Tribbles homolog 3), a stress-inducible gene encoding pseudokinase, has been implicated in the development insulin resistance skeletal muscle and liver patients with obesity type 2 diabetes. However, there is little information regarding expression human adipose tissue. Objective To investigate whether dysregulated tissue context diabetes tissues associated resistance. Methods We measured metabolic parameters abdominal subcutaneous visceral obese...
A milky-white-coloured, aerobic, Gram-stain-positive, rod-shaped and motile bacterial strain (GW78T) was isolated from forest soil. GW78T catalase-positive oxidase-negative. The able to grow optimally at 37 °C pH 7.0 in Reasoner's 2A media. phylogenetic 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis of showed its affiliation with the genus Paenibacillus. revealed 98.3 % similarity nearest neighbour Paenibacillus mucilaginosus VKPM B-7519T. Its chemotaxonomic properties included MK-7 as sole menaquinone,...
A Gram-stain-negative, yellow-pigmented bacterial strain, designated PR1012K T , was isolated from a motor car evaporator core collected in Korea. Cells of the strain were facultatively anaerobic, non-spore-forming and rod-shaped. The grew at 10–40 °C (optimum, 25 °C), pH 6.5–8.0 7.0–8.0) presence 0–1 % (w/v) NaCl. Phylogenetically, closely related to members genus Spirosoma (97.50–90.74 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities) showed highest similarity panaciterrae DSM 21099 (97.50 %). Its...
Abstract Objective Leukocyte cell‐derived chemotaxin 2 (LECT2) is an obesity‐upregulated hepatokine inducing skeletal muscle insulin resistance. The study's aim was to explore whether LECT2 expressed in human adipose tissue and the expression dysregulated during obesity associated with obesity‐related metabolic disorders. Methods This study measured parameters, serum LECT2, of CD209 , a gene encoding putative receptor for abdominal subcutaneous visceral tissues women (with or without type...
In order to obtain efficient surface emission, we propose and demonstrate a GaN light-emitting diode (LED) structure. A two-dimensional photonic crystal (PC) pattern is integrated the sapphire substrate before epigrowth by employing laser holography. addition, angled sidewall deflectors (ASDs) are formed on mesa sidewalls. Both PC ASDs redirect guided photons into surface-normal direction. When compared conventional LED structure, could twofold increase in total emission intensity enhanced...
