Wikidata is a community-maintained knowledge base that has been assembled from repositories in the fields of genomics, proteomics, genetic variants, pathways, chemical compounds, and diseases, adheres to FAIR principles findability, accessibility, interoperability reusability. Here we describe breadth depth biomedical contained within Wikidata, discuss open-source tools have built add information synchronize it with source databases. We also demonstrate several use cases for including...

Drug repositioning is an attractive alternative to de novo drug discovery due reduced time and costs bring drugs market. Computational methods, particularly non-black-box methods that can account for predict a drug's mechanism, may provide great benefit directing future development. By tuning both data algorithm utilize relationships important mechanisms, computational be trained explain mechanistically novel indications. In this work, we examined the 123 curated mechanism paths found in...

We present a rapid, simple, and scalable approach to achieve superhydrophobic (SH) substrates directly in commodity shrink wrap film utilizing Argon (Ar) plasma. Ar plasma treatment creates stiff skin layer on the surface of film. When shrinks, mismatch stiffness between bulk causes formation multiscale hierarchical wrinkles with nano-textured features. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images confirm presence these biomimetic structures. Contact angle (CA) contact hysteresis (CAH)...

Commercially available automated cell counters based on trypan blue dye-exclusion are widely used in industrial culture process development and manufacturing to increase throughput eliminate inherent variability subjective interpretation associated with manual hemocytometers. When using these counters, sample dilution is often necessary stay within the assay measurement range; however, effect of time diluents not well understood. This report presents adverse phosphate buffered saline as a...

Abstract While link prediction methods in knowledge graphs have been increasingly utilized to locate potential associations between compounds and diseases, they suffer from lack of sufficient evidence explain why a drug disease may be indicated. This is especially true for graph embedding (KGE) based where drug-disease indication linked only by information gleaned vector representation. Complementary pathwalking algorithms can increase the confidence repurposing candidates traversing graph....

ABSTRACT This study introduces a weighted ensemble method called “WeightedKgBlend” for link prediction in knowledge graphs which combines the predictive capabilities of two types Knowledge Graph completion methods: graph embedding and path based reasoning. By dynamically assigning weights on individual model performance, WeightedKgBlend surpasses standalone methods, demonstrating superior accuracy when tested to discover drug-disease candidates over large-scale biomedical Mechanistic...
