A compression wave is generated due to a piston effect as high-speed train enters railway tunnel. The propagates ahead of the at local speed sound. As it along tunnel, wall friction causes front distort during this process. distortion could be distinctly characterized by peak over pressure attenuation, waveform steepening, and wavelength widening. characteristics propagating strongly depend on factor, tunnel blockage ratio, speed. propagation can have great impact aerodynamics well...
Entry compression wave formation is caused due to the piston effect of high-speed train ingress inside a tunnel. The process entry using multiple pressure monitor points on tunnel wall have been studied here computational fluid dynamics (CFD). A comparison between an abrupt portal and inclined portals has undertaken. Three different inclinations viz. 30ᵒ, 45ᵒ, 60ᵒ are compared with 90ᵒ portal. results prove that 30ᵒ presents reduced gradient as other three portals. plots shown for...
