A compression wave is generated due to a piston effect as high-speed train enters railway tunnel. The propagates ahead of the at local speed sound. Entry compression wave formation is caused due to the piston effect of high-speed train ingress inside a tunnel. The process entry using multiple pressure monitor points on tunnel wall have been studied here computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
