The prospect of building a future energy system on hydrogen has stimulated much research effort in developing storage technologies. One the potential materials newly developed is sodium amidoborane (NaNH2BH3) which evolves ∼7.5 wt% at temperatures as low 91 °C. In this paper, two methods synthesizing pure NaNH2BH3 were reported. method by reacting NaH and ammonia borane THF temperatures, other NaNH2 ambient temperature. Non-isothermal testing thermolysis solid showed that evolution was...

Abstract Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has been a defining tool in modern biology. Towards realizing mirror-image PCR, we have designed and chemically synthesized mutant version of the 352-residue thermostable Sulfolobus solfataricus P2 DNA polymerase IV with l -amino acids tested its PCR activity biochemically. To best our knowledge, this enzyme is largest protein reported to date. We show that optimization conditions, fully synthetic capable amplifying template sequences up 1.5 kb. The...

Lithium amidoborane (LiNH2BH3) and ammonia borane (NH3BH3) reduce aromatic aldehydes in tetrahydrofuran (THF) through two different pathways. LiNH2BH3 only transfers hydridic hydrogen on boron to a hydroboration process achieve lithium aminoborate; borane, the other hand, both protic hydrogens N B, respectively, directly corresponding alcohols. Mechanistic investigations confirm that H(N) H(B) of participate reduction, which dissociation B–H N–H bonds is likely be involved rate-determining step.

Abstract Metal amidoboranes (MABs), such as lithium amidoborane (LiAB), show superior ability in reducing ketones and imines directly into their corresponding secondary alcohols amines, respectively, at room temperature with high conversion yields. A mechanistic study indicates that the reduction proceeds through a double‐hydrogen‐transfer process. Both protic H(N) hydridic H(B) protons participate reaction. Theoretical investigations first (and rate‐determining) step of reaction is...

Lithium amidoborane (LiNH(2)BH(3), LiAB for short), is capable of chemoselectively reducing α,β-unsaturated ketones to the corresponding allylic alcohols at ambient temperature. A mechanistic study shows that reduction via a double hydrogen transfer process. The protic H(N) and hydridic H(B) in add O C sites carbonyl group, respectively.
