Albinism is a genetic disorder caused by series of abnormalities that result in decrease melanin. We sequenced and characterized the complete mitochondrial genome of Channa argus, maculata their hybrid [C. (♀) C. argus (♂)]. All three genomes contained typical complement 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal (rRNAs) 1 control region. The entire DNA (mtDNA) molecule was 16,559 bp long while mtDNA snakehead fish 16,558 long. This is first report on mitogenome sequence fish.

Both mitogenomes contained typical complement 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), two ribosomal (rRNAs), a non-coding control region. They share same gene arrangement pattern that was identical with most vertebrates. The entire DNA molecule grey black L. capito 16603-bp long, while mtDNA orangey red 16607-bp long.
