Abstract An orthogonal least squares estimator, which was originally derived for single-input single-output systems, is extended to multi-input multi-output non-linear systems. The estimator can provide information about the structure, or terms include in model, and final parameter estimates a very simple efficient manner. Multivariable model validity tests are also discussed results of applying both simulated real data included.

An orthogonal parameter estimation algorithm is derived which allows each in a linear–in–the–parameters non–linear difference equation model to be estimated sequentially and quite independently of the other parameters model. The can applied for any persistently exciting input provides both unbiased estimates presence correlated noise an indication terms include Several simulated examples are included demonstrate effectiveness algorithm.

Abstract The identification of a non-linear output-affine difference equation model is considered. An orthogonal least-squares algorithm derived that can determine the term to regress upon, detect significant terms in expansion, and provide final parameter estimates. It shown property results particularly simple estimation routine simulated examples are included illustrate techniques.

To have a continuous navigation solution that does not suffer from interruption, GPS is integrated with relative positioning techniques such as odometry and inertial navigation. Targeting low-cost for land vehicles, this paper uses reduced multisensor system consisting of one microelectromechanical-system (MEMS)-based single-axis gyroscope used together the vehicle's odometer, whole GPS. This provides 2-D solution, which adequate vehicles. The traditional technique integration problem Kalman...

While indoor portable navigation using devices is becoming increasingly required, it faces many challenges in obtaining accurate positioning performance. One of the methods to improve results recognize mode motion user carrying device containing low-cost microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors. Pattern recognition methodology has been employed detect a group modes that are common indoors, namely, walking, stationary, going up/down stairs, standing on an escalator, walking moving...

Navigation of land or self-driving vehicles is essential for safe and accurate travel. The global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs), such as positioning system (GPS) are the primary sources information purpose. However, high-rise buildings in urban canyons block GPS satellites signals. Alternatively, inertial (INS) typically working a backup. A reduced sensor (RISS) used instead full INS to achieve same purpose with fewer sensors computations. Unfortunately, RISS solution drifts over...
