Abstract Using Geographical Information System (GIS) and remote-sensing technologies, we describe quantitative measurements of glacier variations in the Geladandong mountain region central Tibet. Data from Landsat images at three different times, 1973–76, 1992 2002, are compared with areas digitized a topographic map based on aerial photographs taken 1969. We find that while some glaciers have advanced during past 30 years, others retreated. The area retreat is much larger than advance....

Abstract Reducing energy intensity has consistently been advocated by the Chinese government in its effort to achieve sustainable development targets. Extant research suggests that consumption is often viewed as primary cause of poor air quality. This paper investigates whether a certain threshold environmental regulation causes relationship be reversed, is, urban haze pollution could facilitate reduction intensity. On basis city‐level panel data within period 2010–2015 China, we...

Geochemical fractionation is used to assess the significance of environmental factors on organic phosphorus (OP) pools in sediments. Labile, moderately labile, and nonlabile OP sediments from Lake Hulun, Inner Mongolia, were fractionated, their responses conditions lake evolution investigated based spatial vertical distribution fractionations. In light recalcitrant characteristics matter (OM) different conditions, pH presents significant negative effects amount labile OP, while water depth...

Abstract This work quantifies glacier variations in the Naimona’nyi area of western Himalaya by integrating spatial data from ASTER and Landsat series satellite imagery at four different times: 1976, 1990, 1999 2003. Comparison results individual images with those integrated method indicates that approach provides a better result. Glacier were mapped analyzed; discrepancies between could be detected removed using remap tables Arc/Info grid both graphically numerically. Our show glaciers...

This paper investigates whether the insiders strategically manage disclosure and timing of media coverage to maximize their trading profits. Using a sample Chinese A-listed firms during period 2008–2017, we find that when top managers intend sell shares, they would increase in early stage pull up stock price based on self-interest motivation. That's say, attention focused represents significant selling decreases largely after is completed. In addition, association mitigated SOEs belonging...

Abstract: Anthracnose, caused by the fungus Colletotrichum musae, is a serious latent post-harvest disease of banana, which results in major economic losses during transportation and storage. Benzo-thiadiazole-7-carbothioic acid S-methyl ester (BTH), functional analogue plant endogenous hormone-like compound salicylic (SA), has been known to possess resistant effects on some diseases fungi. The aim present study was select an appropriate BTH concentration stage banana ripening for its...

The large amount of coal mining activity in the arid region northwestern China leads to vegetation degradation and a greater probability strong winds. characteristics windy fields directly affect sand-dust transportation process. To capture wind field area, numerical simulation computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was conducted using Reynolds-Averaged Naiver-Stokes (RANS) turbulence model based on open source software OpenFOAM,taking Xinxing Coal Mine Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, as an example. test...
