Abstract In this paper, the micromorphic approach, previously developed in mechanical context is applied to heat transfer and shown deliver new generalized equations as well nonlocal effects. The latter are compared existing formulations: classical Fourier conduction, hyperbolic type with relaxation time, gradient of temperature or entropy theories, double model, micro-temperature model micro-entropy models. A pair thermodynamically-consistent derived from appropriate Helmholtz-free energy...

The large amount of coal mining activity in the arid region northwestern China leads to vegetation degradation and a greater probability strong winds. characteristics windy fields directly affect sand-dust transportation process. To capture wind field area, numerical simulation computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was conducted using Reynolds-Averaged Naiver-Stokes (RANS) turbulence model based on open source software OpenFOAM,taking Xinxing Coal Mine Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, as an example. test...

Classical coaxial plasticity constitutive models implicate an inevitable limitation that directions for principal stress and plastic strain increment are always coaxial. They not capable of simulating non-coaxial phenomena during the rotation axis. In this paper, a three-dimensional, model sands with modification Lade angle dependent shape function is introduced to describe behavior under axes rotation. A series numerical simulations hollow cylindrical torsional shear tests performed. The...

Based on shallow parallel underground tunnel and double-line shield of Jinan Rail Transit Line R3, this paper proposes two reinforcement measures including bored piles curtain grouting in the middle tunnel, making a numerical analysis comparison effect. The results show that influence later construction deformation earlier can be effectively reduced after taking respectively effect is better.

Aiming at the limitation of traditional constitutive theories which can not explain decrease inclination angle shear bands correctly when confining pressure increases, a state-dependent critical state model is employed to analyze strain localization Hostun sands. Firstly, formulation and parameters are calibrated through available drained triaxial test results sand. Then an analysis performed on plane tests. The show that capable simulating effect initial effective bands.

Abstract A series of pure principal stress rotation tests with dynamic hollow cylinder apparatus were conducted on saturated fine sand. The elastic torsional shear strain was reported to account for a large proportion the total strain, which could not be ignored. On this basis, non-coaxial angle is redefined and deformation characteristics influencing factors sand are studied. results show that will cause obvious plastic initial has more significant influence compared intermediate coefficient.
