Isoginkgetin (ISO), a natural biflavonoid, exhibited cytotoxic activity against several types of cancer cells. However, its effects on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells and mechanism remain unclear. Here, we revealed that ISO effectively inhibited HCC cell proliferation migration in vitro. LC3-II expression autophagosomes were increased under treatment. In addition, ISO-induced death was attenuated by treatment with chloroquine or knockdown autophagy-related genes (ATG5 ULK1)....
Yin-Chen, which belongs to the Asteraceae family and genus Artemisia, is among most abundantly used traditional medicines in China for treatment of hepatitis bilious disorder. Herein, five undescribed plant-derived bisphenols, capillarisenols A–E (13, 15, 25, 29, 31), one phenolic compound (32), together with 32 known compounds (1–12, 14, 16–24, 26–28, 30, 33–38), were isolated identified based on spectroscopic evidence from aerial parts Artemisia capillaris Thunb. Capillarisenols are type...
IntroductionJichuan decoction (JCD) is a well-known traditional Chinese medicinal formula that moistens the intestines and widely used for treatment of constipation in China. However, its effects mechanisms alleviating slow transit (STC) vivo remain unclear. We attempted to demonstrate effect JCD, with without essential oil (VO), on intestinal underlying molecular rats loperamide-induced STC.Materials methodsWater consumption, body weight, fecal water content, time first melena excretion,...
Targeting macrophage M1 polarization is a promising strategy with fewer detrimental effects in COVID-19 curation. Phenylethanoid glycosides (PhGs) of Cistanche tubulosa are botanical drug to possess various anti-inflammation-related functions, such as immunomodulating, hepatoprotective or neuroprotective whereas their anti-inflammatory activity rarely understood. A search into characteristics led the isolation 49 PhGs along 15 new PhGs. Their inhibitory against induced by LPS plus IFN-γ were...
Abstract We have purified a novel caffeoylquinic acid named 3,4-di- O -caffeoylquinic isobutyl ester from the flower buds of Lonicera japonica Thunb., Caprifoliaceae. However, biological function is still unknown. Here, we found that effectively inhibited proliferation and migration hepatocellular carcinoma cells, it displayed less toxicity to normal liver cell line. Mechanistic studies showed diminished expression YAP at mRNA level. Overexpression significantly rescued HepG2 cells...
In order to monitor the quality of cellulose diacetate flake(CDF),a method for analyzing total sulfur(TS) in CDF by ICP-AES with steam autoclave heating was established.Eight samples were tested. The results showed that:1) The recoveries sulfur range 97.2% 100.8% RSD 2.22% and limit detection 0.051 mg/kg.2) TS content 3.2 110.2 mg/kg.
Abstract In our previous work, we isolated a novel bisphenol named capillarisenol C (Cap C) from Artemisia capillaris . Preliminary studies indicated potential anti-hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) activity. However, its mechanism remains unclear. this study, aimed to investigate the function and molecular of anti-HCC activity Cap C. First, We evaluated inhibitory effect on viability HepG2 Huh7 cells using CCK8 assays. The results showed that sharply reduced in time- concentration-dependent...
Ethnopharmacological relevance: Slow transit constipation (STC) is a common functional characterized by delay in the of stool through colon. Stimulant laxatives are still used as first-line therapy, although studies generally show diminished colonic motility response to such drugs. Jichuan decoction (JCD) well-known traditional Chinese medicinal formula that has laxative effect moistening intestines and widely treatment China. However, mechanism STC remains unclear.Aim study: We attempted...
