An ongoing study of the longhorned beetle fauna in cloud forests Cusuco National Park revealed multiple additions to Honduran fauna. Four new species are described: Heterachthes caceresae sp. nov. (Cerambycinae, Neoibidionini), Oreodera kawasae (Lamiinae, Acrocinini), Phrynidius guifarroi Apomecynini), and Strangalia lunai (Lepturinae, Lepturini). Additionally, Lagocheirus parvulus Casey, 1913 Acanthocinini) is revalidated as araneiformis (Lagochirus [sic]). We recorded Arixiuna varians...

Digitization of specimen collections has become a key priority many natural history museums. The camera systems built for this purpose are expensive, providing barrier in institutes with limited funding, and therefore hampering progress. An assessment is made on whether low cost compact image stacking functionality can help expedite the digitization process large museums or provide smaller amateur entomologists means to digitize their collections. Images professional setup were compared...

Cereal leaf beetles (CLBs), a group of chrysomelid the genus Oulema (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), are well-known pest insects small-grain cereals in many countries Northern hemisphere. Due to small differences morphology species within this genus, classification up level remains challenging task. Since an accurate view composition is important for developing targeted control strategies, goal study was unravel Flanders' wheat fields. During three subsequent years at series different fields,...

The digitization of museum specimens is a key priority in the Digital Era. databases help to avoid unnecessary manipulation hazards delicate collections, increase their accessibility third party researchers, and contribute ongoing documentation global biodiversity. Time, workforce need specialized infrastructures limit processing vast number natural history collections. Cheaper, easy-to-use methods volunteer programs are developing quickly bridge gap.
