Abstract Introduction An Indiana Pouch (IP) is a heterotopic, continent, urinary diversion from an ileocolonic segment. Numerous studies have investigated its long‐term outcomes, albeit none extending beyond 5‐year follow‐up period. IPs can be used as for benign indications and such are constructed in typically young patients. As consequence of their extended lifespan, there need very (>5 years) IP outcome data comprehensive complication analysis. Materials Methods In this retrospective...
Abstract Introduction Continent catheterizable channels (CCC) provide an alternative route to the bladder in both pediatric and adult patients. This study compared very long‐term complications revision‐free survival of three different CCC techniques: appendicovesicostomy (AVS), ileum (Monti), tubularized flap (TBF). Materials Methods A retrospective cohort was performed. Data from patients with under surveillance at our academic tertiary referral urological center 2020 2021 were collected....
ObjectiveTo describe a modified, less invasive, surgical technique to create continent catheterizable channel (CCC) in adults: the tubularized bladder flap (TBF).Materials and MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed records of patients whom TBF CCC was constructed at adult age between 2019 2023. We reported on demographics, operative outcomes, 30-day post-30-day complications.ResultsA total 11 (10 female) were described. The median time 96 (range 90-115) minutes with only creation. Estimated...
A continent catheterizable channel (CCC) may be a solution for patients with impaired bladder emptying and difficult transurethral access. Leakage of the CCC is common complication. To prevent leakage, pressure in has to higher than reservoir (bladder/pouch) at least one location. It not been clearly defined through which mechanism(s) achieves continence. In this feasibility study, we measured profile adult various types CCC's without stomal leakage.
61 (52 %) was...
Proteinuria is used to track down patients with intrinsic renal disease and increased risk of function decline seen in up 5% the general population. The aim this study investigate prevalence clinical relevance proteinuria regarding a urinary diversion. Data was collected diversion who had follow-up appointment (T1) Urology Department University Hospital Utrecht 2021. Patients were divided into no group. determined through dipstick urinalysis at T1. Glomerular filtration rate imaging analyzed...
