Rheological studies were performed with aqueous salt solutions of viscoelastic cationic surfactant erucyl bis(hydroxyethyl)methylammonium chloride (EHAC) and its mixtures hydrophobically modified polyacrylamide. The itself above the concentration crossover wormlike micelles exhibit two regions rheological response. In first region, they behave like polymer in semidilute regime characterized by behavior a spectrum relaxation times. second unlike their after shear is dominated single time....

Chitosan macromolecules with different molecular weights and degrees of acetylation were dissolved in carbonic acid solutions saturated carbon dioxide at high pressure adsorbed from such onto model mica substrate. Their conformation on the substrate was revealed by means atomic force microscopy. The results observations indicate that there are nanosized stable aggregates peculiar, regular, reproducible geometry, which formed solutions. appear as rather persistent rod-like structures consist...

The viability and surface morphology of human erythrocytes upon interaction with oligochitosan (OCH), having a molecular weight (MW) 6.2-15.4 kDa degree acetylation (DA) 1-2%, N-reacetylated OCH (ROCH) 6.4-14.3 MW 24-30% DA were studied in isotonic saline phosphate buffer pH 7.4. It was shown that the use caused high hemolysis irreversible transformation erythrocytes. Thus, 6.2 1% DA, used at 0.01% concentration, induced erythrocytes, their did not exceed maximal value 60%. Among...

Oligochitosan (short chain chitosan) is more soluble in acidic aqueous media than a high molecular weight (MW) chitosan, but its antimicrobial activity decreases with increase degree of acetylation (DA) and pH above critical threshold point. In the present study, oligochitosans varying MW were additionally N-acetylated their self-assembly properties antibacterial toward Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli investigated wide range as function DA. Light scattering studies reveals that...

Abstract The alkali‐metal‐directed hydrolysis of phenyltrialkoxysilanes, PhSi(OR) 3 (R = Me, Et, n Bu), was performed under various reaction conditions. alkali metal ions were used both as templating entities and structural elements. crystalline sodium potassium phenylsiloxanolates (Na‐PhS K‐PhS) obtained in two different molecular compositions based on a cis ‐tetraphenylcyclotetrasiloxanolate, ‐[PhSi(O)O − ] 4 , or ‐triphenylcyclotrisiloxanolate, anions assembled into chain double‐layer...
