In this study, three derivatives of poly(ether ether ketone) [PEEK] were prepared in suspension by nitration (NO2-PEEK), reduction to the amino group (NH2-PEEK) and carbonyl (PEEK-OH). These modified polymers characterized NMR, IR spectroscopy thermogravimetric analysis. They showed interesting characteristics, such as, basicity higher solubility organic solvents, like DMF, for use as membranes composites different applications.
Partially phosphorylated poly(vinyl alcohol) (PPVA) as anticorrosive coating for AZ31 magnesium alloy was investigated in Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS). Four phosphoric acid levels were used to modify PVA, resulting four PPVA products. They characterized using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), water contact angle (WCA), and swelling test. PPVA-coated Mg alloys evaluated hydrogen evolution, cathodic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electron...
ABSTRACT This article describes the antiplasticization of a commercial polyetherimide ULTEM® series 1000 [poly(bisphenol A‐ co ‐4‐nitrophthalic anhydride‐ ‐1,3‐phenylenediamine) by resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate)] (RDP) and its implications on thermomechanical processing, namely extrusion injection molding, as well thermal mechanical properties formulations. effect allows processing formulations at lower temperatures in comparison with neat polymer due to progressive decrease glass...
This article presents the synthesis and characterization of polyimides copolyimides derived from rigid [4,4′‐(9‐fluorenylidene)dianiline (FNDA) 3,3′,4,4′‐biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPDA)] flexible segments [4,4′‐(1,3‐phenylenedioxy) dianiline (PDODA) ethylenediaminetetraacetic (EDTAn)], by polyaddition followed thermal imidization polyamic acid. It describes acids in accordance to 1 H NMR, FTIR, GPC, XRD analysis, as well solubility, mechanical (DMTA stress–strain tests), (DSC...
Abstract The pre‐treatment of magnesium‐based components plays an important role in surface engineering technology to guarantee good adhesion the final coating system magnesium substrate order achieve corrosion resistance. This paper focuses on influence two different die lubricants—one based mineral oil, other siloxane—on pickling and conversion treatment AM30 alloy. conditions after casting, pickling, were determined by X‐ray‐induced photoelectron spectroscopy, spark erosion, optical...
