The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency occurrence bacteria genus Enterococcus in poultry, identify them by means matrixassisted laser desorption/ionisation time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDITOF MS), and analyse antimicrobial susceptibility isolated strains drugs most frequently used poultry. material for bacteriological tests obtained mainly from heart (97%) birds investigated. Of a total 2,970 samples tested, 911 (30.7%) tested positive spp. Enterococci were detected...
The aim of the study was to evaluate effect inorganic and organic forms Zn on expression cytokines (IL-2, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-12, IL-17, IL-4, IL-10, TGF-β) immunoglobulins (IgA IgG) in tissues small intestine (jejunum ileum) broiler chickens. In experiment, 90 chickens were divided into 4 experimental groups a control group, with 18 birds each. received supplements form without phytase (ZnSO4 ZnSO4 + F), glycine, (Zn-Gly Zn-Gly F). total rearing period 42 days. Quantitative real-time (RT)-PCR...
Abstract Introduction: The study sought to characterise antimicrobial resistance among coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (CNS) species recovered from broiler chickens and turkeys in Poland including the presence of 12 genes five classical staphylococcal enterotoxins. Material Methods: A panel 11 disks evaluated phenotypic sensitivity tested strains antibiotics. Five multiplex PCR assays were performed using primer pairs for specific detection antibiotic enterotoxin E genes. Results: Selected...
The aim of the study was to determine effect in ovo administration zinc glycine chelate (Zn-Gly), and a multistrain probiotic on hatchability selected parameters cellular humoral immune response chickens. conducted 1,400 fertilized eggs from commercial broiler breeders (Ross x Ross 708). Material for consisted peripheral blood spleens chicks taken 12 h 7 d after hatching. results showed that both combined single significantly reduced chicks. flow cytometry highest percentage CD4+ T cells,...
The aim of the study was to determine occurrence and characteristics coagulase-positive Staphylococcus strains in carcasses wild birds aviary capercaillies Southeastern Poland. In total, samples taken from 333 were examined. material consisted swabs internal organs dead (heart, liver, spleen), tarsal joints, mucous membranes (conjunctiva palatine fissure), as well unhatched embryos. isolated tested for sensitivity nine antimicrobial agents presence selected virulence genes. An analysis...
We assessed the antibiotic resistance and genetic diversity of 27 Enterococcus faecalis isolates from 25 wild bird species in Poland. Resistance to lincomycin (100%) was most common followed by tetracycline (48%), erythromycin (44%), ciprofloxacin (22%). High-level streptomycin kanamycin observed 19% 15% isolates, respectively. One isolate (4%) exhibited low-level penicillin vancomycin, all were susceptible gentamicin chloramphenicol. Antibiotic linked tet(M), tet(L), erm(A), erm(B),...
This report suggests a strong association between coagulase-negative Staphylococcus simulans and endocarditis in broiler chickens of single flock. Clinical signs included increased mortality lameness, some dead were found on their backs. Lesions cauliflower-like, fibrinous vegetative lesions the left atrioventricular valve; cream-coloured, necrotic foci varying size liver; necrosis femoral head. Histopathological examination heart revealed multifocal conglomerates bacterial colonies attached...
Wild animals are increasingly reported as carriers of antibiotic-resistant and pathogenic bacteria including
The gut microbiota may play an important role in the development and functioning of mammalian central nervous system. assumption experiment was to prove that use probiotic bacterial strains diet mice modifies expression brain proteins involved metabolic immunological processes.
Pathogenic
Abstract Bacteria of the genus Campylobacter are most common pathogens causing zoonotic diseases in humans. Therefore, aim study was to isolate bacteria from broiler chickens and evaluate their susceptibility selected antibiotics by determining minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC), followed isolation characterization bacteriophages specific for spp. The material consisted field isolates obtained gut (cecum) directly after slaughter slaughterhouses, these strains. We isolated 48 strains...
The purpose of this study was to analyze the antibiotic resistance and genetic diversity 27 enterococci (Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus hirae, durans, casseliflavus) isolated from wild bird species. Resistance lincomycin most common, followed by erythromycin, ciprofloxacin, tetracyclines, high level aminoglycoside, β-lactam antibiotics. No vancomycin- chloramphenicol-resistant isolates were identified. linked tet(M), tet(L), erm(A), erm(B), msr(A/B), pbp5, ant(6)-Ia, aph(3')-IIIa genes....
Bacterial infections of yolk sacs contribute to increased mortality chicks, chronic during their rearing, or selection in the flock, which turn leads high economic losses poultry production worldwide. The aim this study was a phenotypic and genotypic characterization enterococci isolated from sac (YSI) broiler chickens Poland Netherlands. Biochemical, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI)–time-of-flight (TOF) MS, rpoA gene sequencing identification performed. Moreover,...
The current study characterises Staphylococcus bacteria recovered from dead free-living birds and captive capercaillies kept in south-eastern Poland. results provide novel information about the antimicrobial resistance phenotype/genotype virulence profile of these bacteria.Samples internal organs were taken birds. strains identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation-time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Susceptibility to 13 antibiotics was tested using a standard disc diffusion...
Summary The varied bioavailability and different effects of organic forms copper on the immune system poultry have prompted search for new feed additives based compounds containing modified chelate complexes. aim study was to determine effect inorganic selected parameters cellular humoral response in broiler chickens by determining percentages CD 3 + 4 , 8 25 lymphocytes, cells with MHC Class II expression, BU ‐1 cells, as well concentrations SOD IL ‐2, ‐10 TNF ‐α peripheral blood....
The aim of the study was to analyze biofilm-production capacity 87 coagulase-negative Staphylococcus strains (CoNS) isolated from broiler chickens and determine occurrence biofilm-associated genes. biofilm production staphylococci assessed using microtiter plate method (MTP), frequency genes determined by PCR. ability form a in vitro shown 79.3% examined strains. Strong demonstrated 26.4% strains, moderate 25.3%, weak 27.6%, complete lack 20.7% icaAB gene responsible for extracellular...
The aim of the study was to determine how inorganic and organic forms zinc affect concentrations C-reactive protein (CRP), serum amyloid A (SAA), alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (α-1-AGP), haptoglobin (Hp), transferrin (TRF) in blood liver tissue 450 1-day-old Ross 308 chicken. Four experimental groups received one following: (ZnSO4), a phytase enzyme supplement (ZnSO4-F), combination with glycine (Zn-Gly), or supplemented (Zn-Gly-F). chicken homogenates were assayed using an ELISA kit. results...
