VEPP-4 is a multipurpose storage ring facility at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (Novosibirsk, Russia) with several research programs including high energy physics in colliding beam mode, nuclear physics, synchrotron radiation, accelerator study, etc. The paper discusses activities relating to generation and application radiation not only for SR user community but diagnostics as well.
We discuss the choice of magnetic lattice and parameter optimization fourth-generation light source SKIF (Russian acronym for Siberian Circular Photon Source) under construction in Novosibirsk. The study compares several basic cells to procure one with low emittance large dynamic aperture. result is a developed 72 pm natural (at zero beam current absent betatron coupling) at 3 GeV energy 476 m circumference. Only two families sextupoles provide horizontal vertical apertures 12 mm 3.5 mm,...
The present work continues a series of the KEDR measurements $R$ value that started in 2010 at VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. By combining new data with our previous results this energy range we measured values $R_{\text{uds}}$ and nine center-of-mass energies between 3.08 3.72 GeV. total accuracy is about or better than $2.6\%$ most points systematic uncertainty $1.9\%$. Together precise measurement 1.84-3.05 GeV, it constitutes detailed high-precision near charmonium production threshold.
In 1990s, the emergence of 3rd generation synchrotron user facilities equipped with undulator sources, stimulated pioneering works on interaction coherent X-ray beams matter, resulted in development photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS) technique capable to probe nanoscale fluctuations up kHz frequencies using dynamics speckle pattern given by scattering beam from sample. More recently (and highly aided modern high-throughput data analysis algorithms), diffraction imaging (CXDI), also known...
We propose an experiment to search for a new gauge boson A' in e+e− annihilation by means of positron beam incident on gas hydrogen target internal the bypass at VEPP-3 storage ring. The method is based missing mass spectrum reaction e+e−→ γA'. It allows observation signal independently its decay modes and life time. projected result this corresponds upper limit square coupling constant ε2=3⋅ 10−8 with signal-to-noise ratio two one 5–20 MeV .
A compact hybrid magnet wiggler is under development for the VEPP-4 SR research program. The allows increasing photon flux two orders of magnitude at a beam energy 4.5 GeV in spectrum range 60-100 keV. consists conventional coils, which generate magnetic field, and permanent insertions, concentrate flux. This solution increases field orbit up to 2.05 T. Here we present design, calculations analysis dynamics influence.
We study magnetic lattice and optimize parameters for the fourth generation light source SKIF (Russian acronym of Siberian Circular Photon Source) to be built in Novosibirsk. consider several cells achieve both low emittance large dynamic aperture. The resulting provides natural electron beam 75 pm energy 3 GeV orbit circumference 476 m. Only two families chromatic sextupoles give aperture bandwidth enough good lifetime simple effective injection.
A hybrid wiggler for synchrotron radiation research program at the VEPP-4 was created in Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Novosibirsk, Russia. The consists ordinary poles with coils, which generate a spatially periodic magnetic field equal to 1.75 T. Also, permanent magnets are insertion between increasing magnet up 1.9 In this paper, we present design, calculations, and measurements wiggler.
The National Synchrotron Light Source II is a third generation light source, which was constructed at Brookhaven Laboratory. This project includes highly-optimized 3 GeV electron storage ring, linac preinjector, and full-energy synchrotron injector. Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics built delivered the booster for NSLS-II. commissioning successfully completed. paper reviews fulfilled work by participants.
The Siberian ring source of photons (SKIF) is a new fourth-generation synchrotron light currently under construction in Koltsovo city, Russia. beam stability modern sources, characterized by low emittance, sensitive to insignificant levels ground vibrations. We assessed the seismic noise variation from external sources recorded at site SKIF. For frequency range 1–20 Hz, transmission coefficients for vertical and horizontal recording components were 0.38 0.725, respectively. In 20–100 Hz –...
Abstract This paper presents procedures and techniques for correcting the linear optics of VEPP-4M collider. The accelerator structure investigation is based on measurement analysis orbit response matrices (ORM) optical functions reconstructed from turn-by-turn (TbT) data. Having no technical description quadrupole lenses corrector magnets, we have calibrated their current dependencies magnetic strengths fields, respectively. Corresponding to reference orbit, shifts in each plane been...
All magnetic elements that form a closed orbit and focus the beam of charged particles in accelerator are installed on special precise stable supports – girders. Like any mechanical system, girder has its natural frequencies, at which vibrations coming to it amplified. To ensure stability particle beam, is important understand how transmitted from floor element, since even small perturbations can lead worsening parameters beam. The article presents results experimental seismometric...
The product of the electronic width $\psi(2S)$ meson and branching fraction its decay to muon pair was measured in $e^{+}e^{-} \to \psi(2S) \mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ process using nine data sets corresponding an integrated luminosity about 6.5 pb$^{-1}$ collected with KEDR detector at VEPP-4M electron-positron collider: \[ \Gamma_{ee}\times\mathcal{B}_{\mu\mu} = 19.3 \pm 0.3 0.5 ~\text{eV}. \] Adding previous results on hadronic leptonic channels, values were obtained under two assumptions: either...
