In the wagyu industry worldwide, high-quality marbling beef is produced by promoting intramuscular fat deposition during cattle fattening stage through dietary vitamin A control. Thus, however, become susceptible to either deficiency or excess state, not only influencing performance and quality, but also causing health problems. Researchers have been exploring eye photography monitoring methods for blood levels based on relation between retina colour changes. But previous endeavours cannot...

HeLa S3 cells were enriched in the G1 phase of cell cycle by serum starvation and used for analysis prostaglandin (PG) effect on progression. Cell progression was initiated incubating G1-enriched with fresh medium containing 10% fetal calf analyzed presence 40 nM colcemid to block renewal cycle. When control under these conditions, time-dependent decrease number increase that G2/M observed during 24-hr incubation. Cells S increased transiently this period. Abstract The aim of this study was to elucidate the relationship between protein tyrosine phosphorylation state and sperm characteristics in frozen‐stored spermatozoa Japanese Black bulls. were washed with PBS containing polyvinyl alcohol then incubated cell‐permeable cAMP analog cBiMPS induce flagellar hyperactivation. Before after incubation, used for immunodetection tyrosine‐phosphorylated proteins, assessment morphological acrosome condition evaluation motility. In bulls whose classified...

Abstract The lung fluke, Paragonimus westermani (Kerbert, 1878), is widely distributed in Asia, and exhibits much variation its biological properties. Previous phylogenetic studies using DNA sequences have demonstrated that samples from north-east Asia form a tight group distinct south (Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia). Among countries the latter region, considerable molecular diversity was observed. This investigated further additional (partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1...

Artificial insemination (AI) subfertility is an indication of failure AI with frozen-thawed sperm classified as normal by conventional semen examination. Recently, 8 AI-subfertile Japanese Black cattle (S1-S8) were identified using the routine test or in vivo fertilization test, which included superovulated females and subsequent non-surgical recovery presumptive zygotes. In present study, we assessed capacitation states vitro oocyte penetration from these bulls to estimate causal factors...

The purposes of this study were to examine the relationship between male artificial insemination (AI) fertility and sperm acrosomal conditions assessed by new conventional staining techniques identify possible reproductive dysfunctions causing low conception rates in AI using frozen-thawed spermatozoa with poor Japanese Black bulls. We investigated individual differences among bulls results concerning (1) as not merely peanut agglutinin-lectin (a technique) but also immunostaining...

SUMMARY Livestock spermatozoa possess more tenacious suppressors of cAMP‐triggered events—including capacitation‐associated changes—than laboratory animal spermatozoa, leading to flagellar hyperactivation. In order identify the suppressors, we examined effects an inhibitor serine/threonine protein phosphatases (calyculin A) on changes in phosphorylation state, and subsequent occurrence hyperactivation acrosome reaction ejaculated bull spermatozoa. Conception is a fundamental trait for successful cattle reproduction. However, conception rates in Japanese Black have been gradually declining over the last two decades. Although failures are mainly caused by embryonic mortality, role of maternal genetic factors process remains unknown. Copy number variation (CNV), defined as large-scale genomic structural variants, contributes to several disorders. To identify CNV associated with mortality cattle, we evaluated categorical threshold model...

The objective of this study was to identify genomic regions associated with fat-related traits using a Japanese Black cattle population in Hyogo. From 1836 animals, those high or low values were selected on the basis corrected phenotype and then pooled into groups (n = 100 each), respectively. DNA pool-based genome-wide association (GWAS) performed Illumina BovineSNP50 BeadChip v2 three replicate assays for each sample. GWAS detected that two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) BTA7...

In our previous study, we detected a QTL for the oleic acid percentage (C18:1) on BTA9 in Japanese Black cattle through genome-wide association study (GWAS). this performed whole-genome resequencing eight animals with higher and lower C18:1 to identify candidate polymorphisms QTL. A total of 39,658 were region, which narrowed 1993 within 23 genes based allele differences between high low groups. We subsequently selected three genes, that is, CYB5R4, MED23, VNN1, among their function fatty...
