We suggest and motivate a precise equivalence between uncompactified 11-dimensional $M$ theory the $N=\ensuremath{\infty}$ limit of supersymmetric matrix quantum mechanics describing $D0$ branes. The evidence for conjecture consists several correspondences two theories. As consequence supersymmetry simple model is rich enough to describe properties entire Fock space massless well separated particles supergravity theory. In one particular kinematic situation leading large distance interaction...

In this paper, we study the physical significance of thermodynamic volumes AdS black holes using Noether charge formalism Iyer and Wald. After applying to extended thermodynamics a few examples, discuss how interacts with recent complexity = action proposal Brown et al. (CA-duality). We, in particular, discover that their for late time rate change has nice decomposition terms quantities reminiscent Smarr relation. This strongly suggests geometric, via CA-duality holographic, interpretation...

The operator product expansion for ``small'' Wilson loops in $\mathcal{N}=4,$ $d=4$ SYM theory is studied. OPE coefficients are calculated the large N and ${g}_{\mathrm{YM}}^{2}N$ limit by exploiting AdS-CFT correspondence. We also consider surfaces (0,2), $d=6$ superconformal theory. In this case, we find that UV divergent terms include a term proportional to rigid string action.

A cosmological version of the holographic principle is proposed. Various consequences are discussed including bounds on equation state and requirement that universe be infinite.

We present a model for high energy two body scattering in quantum theory of gravity. The is applicable center mass energies higher than the relevant Planck scale. At impact parameters smaller Schwarzchild radius appropriate to and total charge initial state, cross section dominated by an inelastic process which single large black hole formed. then decays Hawking radiation. elastic highly suppressed at these because small phase space thermal decay into state. We develop the quantization of spherically symmetric gravitational systems using Dirac formalism and WKB approximation. The particular application is nucleation false-vacuum bubbles, which may have been origin inflationary universe matter. Consistency between our results those obtained by Euclidean method requires that latter include metrics with degeneracies. Our work also raises several other questions principle, including meaning wave function necessity topology change. A tentative this...

The breaking of supersymmetry can be implemented by the $D$ term. This term quadratically divergent, ruining possibility naturally large hierarchies. According to Witten this does not occur if U(1) gauge group is unified in a semisimple group. We show that sufficient conditions for counterterm vanish are less restrictive than grand unification and only require vanishing trace charge. No cancellation between high-energy low-energy scales involved.

Using the Ryu-Takayanagi conjectured formula for entanglement entropy in context of gauge-gravity duality, we investigate properties mutual information between two disjoint rectangular subsystems finite temperature relativistic conformal field theories $d$ spacetime dimensions and nonrelativistic scale-invariant some generic examples. We discuss the construction of analog an S-matrix for space-times that begin with a Big-Bang and asymptote to FRW universe nonnegative cosmological constant. When constant is positive there are many such S-matrices, related mathematically by gauge transformations physically principle black hole complementarity. In limit vanishing $Λ$ these become (approximate) Poincare transforms each other. Considerations initial state require quantum treatment space-time, some preliminary steps towards...

We begin by reviewing the results on decay of unstable D-branes in type II string theory, and open-closed duality proposal that arises from these studies. We then apply this to study tachyon driven cosmology, namely cosmological solutions describing space filling D-branes.This naturally gives rise a time reversal invariant bounce solution with positive spatial curvature. In absence bulk constant universe always begins big bang ends crunch. In presence one may get non-singular for some special...

Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we construct holographic dual of a tunneling instanton describing Schwinger pair creation in de Sitter space. Our approach allows us to extract critical value electric field for which potential barrier disappears, rendering vacuum unstable. In addition, compute large-$\ensuremath{\lambda}$, large-${N}_{c}$ corrections nucleation rate and find that it agrees with previous expectations based on perturbative computations. As by-product this investigation, study...

We study the holographic complexity of noncommutative field theories. The four-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory with Moyal algebra along two spatial directions has a well known dual as type IIB supergravity stack D3 branes and non-trivial NS-NS B fields. start from this example find that late time growth rate, based on "complexity equals action" conjecture, experiences an enhancement when non-commutativity is turned on. This saturates new limit which exactly 1/4 larger...
