In this paper, we propose a volatile organic compound (VOC) gas sensing system with high sensitivity and wide dynamic range that is based on the principle of heterodyne frequency modulation method. According to method, time period signal shift when Nile Red containing VOC-sensitive membrane fiber-optic element comes into contact VOC. This produces strong, fast reversible signals exposed VOC gases. The response recovery times proposed were less than 35 s, good reproducibility accuracy obtained.
