A 67-year-old female with acute myelogenous leukemia, presented a two-week history of enlarging ecchymosis-like plaques hemorrhagic bullae on the right forearm and anterior legs, associated fever, pain, swelling. Chromoblastomycosis is an endemic mycoses which has been misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed in the past. This may be due to clinicopathologic characteristics that it shares with other neglected tropical diseases such as leprosy and cutaneous tuberculosis. Correlating clinical findings histopathologic cues will lead clinicians correct diagnosis subsequent treatment success.
