Geographical surveys of plant feeders on weeds are essential for finding species which can be studied as classical biological control agents alien plants. Four eriophyoid have been collected well-known surveyed the Italian territory. A new species, Aceria verbenacae sp. nov., was found leaf and stem deformations Salvia verbenaca L. (Lamiaceae) is described illustrated. Two Phyllocoptinae were first time in Italy: Aculus mosoniensis (Ripka & Érsek) comb. nov. Metaculus rapistri Carmona....

Combined X-ray-based spectroscopy techniques were applied to investigate arsenic (As) bioaccumulation in earthworms (Eisenia andrei) exposed six field-collected polluted soils (58-13 330 mg As kg-1). After 14 days of exposure the arsenious soils, distribution was examined by micro-X-ray fluorescence (μXRF), after epoxy resin embedding and preparing thin sections. Similar μXRF data, XRF-computed tomography (XRF-CT) confirmed accumulation coelom intact earthworms. Therefore, total-reflection...

Habitat networks can help to make habitats more resilient and assist species survival in a fragmented landscape changing climate. Butterflies are one of the main indicators diversity due their high sensitivity environmental changes. In context sudden unpredictable changes, protection strategies for butterflies at risk extinction should consider exact distribution these species, as well various threats which each them is subjected. About 290 reported Italian fauna, 120 recorded Apulia...

Information regarding Pentatomoidea is scarce in Southern Italy, and particular concering the Apulia region (Sourthern Italy), an area of high biodiversity potential. We conducted extensive survey fauna Alta Murgia National Park, a Site Community Importance, neighbouring areas located central part region. The was carried out 2016, 2017 2020, sampling different habitat types. found 55 species, with five new records for Apulia: Solenosthedium bilunatum, Acrosternum millierei, Sciocoris...
