This study focused on the kinetics of biomethane production from raw banana peel. Physical pretreatment by grinding peel into small pieces prior to anaerobic fermentation was used. Experiments were setup in 0.5 L batch reactor under mesophilic condition (37 oC), pH 7 and varied total solids (TS) concentrations 2.5, 5, 7.5 10% w v-1. Air liquid samples collected every 12 hr for gas composition volatile fatty acids (VFA) analyses. At 7.5% TS, maximum yield rate 439 mL g-1 TVS 5.31 hr-1,...

The success of Next generation sequencing (NGS) technology over the past decades has led to a better understanding complex microbial communities in such environment. Here, we employed NGS monitor sulfur oxidizing bacteria (SOB) community from cassava starch industry (BPT), which can oxidize H2S into sulfate or elemental under aerobic conditions. Microbial sludge was collected two sampling points comprising starting (BPT1) and recirculating (BPT2) biotrickling filter. gDNA extracted BPT1 BPT2...

The color of textile wastewater is still a main problem in treatment by biological processes. colored effluents from factories usually exceed effluent standards. Therefore, various innovations were developed to treat for decolorization the effluents. This research aims decolorize immobilizing white rot fungi degradation. At first, 11 fungal stains tested find decolorized efficiency then high immobilized on four material media, namely water hyacinth stalks, coconut husk, corn cob, and loofah....

Knowledge of gene function and coexistence in the sulfur oxidizing bacteria (SOB) communities plays a significant role driving sulfide oxidation process biogas clean-up process, including stability balance within system. Microarray techniques can be responding to achieve as specific-detection, quantitative-identification, high-throughput tools for microbial characterization various environments. This research designed microarray monitoring SOB based on entire genome functional genes:...

A high concentration of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) released from pig farming is one the major environmental problems affecting surrounding communities. In modern farms, bioscrubber used to eliminate H2S, which found be driven mainly by sulfur-oxidizing bacteria (SOB) community. Therefore, in this study, molecular biology techniques such as next-generation sequencing (NGS) and DNA microarray are proposed study linkage between enzyme activity abundance SOB The starting sludge (SFP1) recirculating...

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is highly corrosive to electric generators, which the main problem of biogas utilization. The industrial scale biofilter system relies on performance sulfide-oxidizing bacteria (SOB) via activity sulfur oxidation (soxABXYZ) and flavocytochrome dehydrogenase (fccAB) enzymes reduce a concentration below 100 ppm before using in machinery. purpose this research investigate SOB community full-scale H2S removal their gene expression (fccAB soxABXYZ) associated with...

Corrosive and harmful hydrogen sulfide (H2S) are major obstacles to biogas utilization. Bioscrubber system is the one of most popular tecnologies for removing H2S from biogas. Sulfur oxidizing bacteria (SOB) play an important role in controlling efficiency stability bioscrubber systems through sulfur oxidation (soxABXYZ) flavocytochrome dehydrogenase (fccAB) enzyme catalyses. The main purpose this research analyse microbial diversity gene expression pattern SOBs related oxidation. In study,...
