Lanthanide ions are supposed to be promising candidates for the elements of single-molecule magnets (SMMs) because large magnetic momentum and anisotropy. We have established [Dy2Cu] complex as a new SMM. A plausible mechanism quantum tunneling magnetization is proposed first time among 4f−3d heterometallic SMMs. The coupling parameter between Dy Cu was well-defined −0.155 K.
