The insertion of an iridium complex into N-H bond in ammonia leads to a stable monomeric amido hydride solution at room temperature. This reaction advances the transition-metal coordination chemistry beyond its role for more than century as ancillary ligand. precursor this is iridium(I) olefin with aliphatic ligand containing one carbon and two phosphorus donor atoms. Kinetic isotopic labeling studies indicate that dissociates give 14-electron fragment, which then reacts ammonia. cleavage...

Five new withanolide derivatives (1, 9—12) were isolated from the roots of Withania somnifera together with fourteen known compounds (2—8, 13—19). On basis spectroscopic and physiochemical evidence, 1 9—12 determined to be (20S,22R)-3α,6α-epoxy-4β,5β,27-trihydroxy-1-oxowitha-24-enolide (1), 27-O-β-D-glucopyranosylpubesenolide 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside (withanoside VIII, 9), 27-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosylpubesenolide IX, 10), 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside X,...

We report the dehydrogenation of 1,4-butanediol to γ-butyrolactone catalyzed by soluble ruthenium complexes without solvent or a hydrogen acceptor. An alkylphosphine version bis-phosphine diamine catalysts has been prepared and was found be longest-lived catalyst for conversion γ-butyrolactone. The catalytic production from 1,4-butandiol with this is simple conduct, environmentally friendly, highly efficient.

We previously reported that the methanol extract of Ashwagandha (roots Withania somnifera Dunal) induced dendrite extension in a human neuroblastoma cell line. In this study, we found six 18 compounds isolated from enhanced neurite outgrowth SH-SY5Y cells. Double immunostaining was performed rat cortical neurons using antibodies to phosphorylated NF-H as an axonal marker, and MAP2 dendritic marker. withanolide A-treated cells, length NF-H-positive processes significantly increased compared...

Reaction aniline unit generated from (PCP)IrH2 norbornene resulted in N-H oxidative addition product (PhNH)(H)Ir(PCP) (1a). In contrast, reaction this ammonia gave complex (NH3)Ir(PCP) (2). that would be formed by ammonia, (PCP)Ir(NH2)(H) (1b), was independently...

Construction of the [5–7–7] tricyclic core eurifoloid A, which contains an unusual and highly strained bicyclo[4.4.1]undecane ring system with trans-bridgehead, was attempted using a type II intramolecular [5 + 2] cycloaddition reaction Meinwald rearrangement epoxide as key synthetic steps. The reported chemistry illustrates feasibility constructing 8-epi-eurifoloid A framework by cycloaddition.
