Alumina porous ceramic with controlled pore size distribution was produced and its potential as a random laser host is investigated. Bi-chromatic observed from rhodamine B infiltrated when excited by 532 nm pulsed laser. Two regimes were characterized associated the excitation of monomers dimers. The results show that this class material very promising for development low-cost solid state lasers.

This work demonstrates the possibility of synthesis cadmium tungstate at low temperatures using oxide precursors. Cadmium (CdWO 4 ) scintillator was produced via microwave-assisted hydrothermal reaction precursors CdO and WO 3 . The methodology based on microwave radiation for heating, which is remarkably faster than solid-state route or conventional procedure. CdWO monoclinic (wolframite) structure successfully obtained 120°C times as short 20 min. does not require use templates surfactants...

Optical spectroscopy studies of Nd3+-doped scheelite calcium molybdate (CaMoO4) single crystal grown by a floating zone-like technique was performed using Judd-Ofelt analysis, besides luminescence data and lifetime measurements in the visible near infrared domains. The excited state absorption cross section units this material measured two different methods for all expected emission. By calculated intensity parameters (t=2, 4, 6), it were determined branching ratios, emission cross-sections,...

We report on peculiar dynamic features of laser oscillation in a cavity with semiconductor junction as the gain medium and an intracavity atomic absorber. The output face is antireflection coated, lasing action achieved by using diffraction grating to close cavity. spectral analysis emission evidences stable narrow linewidth when oscillating frequency resonant also observe bistability instability. change between these regimes controlled through bias current very reproducible way.

The control of the thermal gradient in single crystal grown by laser-heated pedestal growth method is demonstrated through focalization laser beam into two different regions starting feed stock. To create these conditions, an optical component consisting incomplete spherical mirrors with same focal distances was designed and built copper coated aluminum. performance this tested lithium niobate rods a radius larger than critical calculated from theoretical model for beam. Thermal temperature...

Abstract The analysis of the melt profile in floating zone techniques has been made past years by raising differential equations terms Cartesian coordinates and numerically looking for its solution. Although this method permits to establish quite good approximations real profile, solutions are deficient prediction new information that can be related thermophysical properties most materials. We investigated applicability a different approach starting from novel equation fitting situation also...
