Procellaria cinerea Gmelin, 1789 and Pachyptila vittata (Forster, 1977) are considered vagrants in Brazil, with very few documented records the country. Abstract An opportunistic rescue of a stranded 6 m giant manta ray off Ilha Comprida, in São Paulo, southeastern Brazil, revealed new technique for returning large bodied mobulid rays to the water once beached. The order Procellariiformes comprises mainly oceanic species that are occasionally recorded from along the Brazilian coast.
