The mechanical properties and morphology of the surface titanium nitride films deposited by reactive sputtering with a hot target have been investigated. It was founded that synthesized at low nitrogen flow rate high discharge current density highest hardness (up to 30 GPa) Young's modulus 300 GPa). analysis images obtained atomic force microscopy is carried out. typical grain size its shape were determined. Films greatest largest grains.

A review and comparison of different techniques for indenter shape characterization have been carried out. The considered in this study are: a series indentations reference material with known mechanical properties, direct AFM observation apex SPM imaging calibration gratings supported laser interferometer. All the described are analyzed terms factors affecting efficiency obtaining resulting area function.

Metal Vapor Vacuum Arc (MEVVA) ion source (IS) is a unique tool for production of high intensity metal beam that can be used material surface modification. From the other hand, duoplasmatron provides gas beams. The MEVVA and IS developed in Institute Theoretical Experimental Physics were reactor steel modification experiments. Response ferritic-martensitic specimens on titanium nitrogen ions implantation consequent vacuum annealing was investigated. Increase microhardness near region...

This study relates to the formation of carbon and silicon dioxide films that occurs as a result decomposition organic silicon-containing molecules on surface ionic crystals under IR femtosecond laser radiation moderate intensity (~1011 W cm−2) without molecular in gas phase. We found transparent graphite oxide formed case CO2 molecule decomposition.

Modification of the surface topography and chemistry are commonly used to achieve desired biological response implants. The influence different treatment methods on physicochemical mechanical properties titanium is reported. All samples were divided into 2 groups. First group was sandblasted with 250–320 μm Al <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> O xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf> at two pressures 0.45 MPa...

Tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) coatings have been prepared on silicon substrates by the pulsed cathodic arc source. For limitation of heat flux plasma to sample, diaphragm 27 mm diameter has used. The deposition process carried out at three different distances between source and substrate: 150, 215 265 mm. properties ta-C studied Raman spectroscopy dynamic nanoindentation techniques. analysis spectra parameters revealed that concentration ordered aromatic rings in Csp2 cluster decreases...
