各種植物の根圏および栽培土壌から分離したFusarium属菌とTrichoderma属菌について,イネの重要な種子伝染性病害であるばか苗病および苗立枯細菌病に対する発病抑制能を検討した.Fusaraum属菌350菌株,Trichoderma属菌66菌株について,培養菌液または分生子懸濁液の,イネ種子浸漬処理によるイネばか苗病発病抑制効果を検討したところ,両属とも高い発病抑制効果を示す菌株が高い割合で存在することが明らかとなった.また,ばか苗病に対して比較的低菌量処理で高い発病抑制効果を示すものの中には,イネ苗立枯細菌病に対しても高い発病抑制効果を示す菌株が多数認められた.高い発病抑制効果を示す菌株として,トマト根圏より分離したF. oxysporum SNF-356株,ノシバ根圏より分離したTrichoderma sp....
日本のサンゴ礁海域では,スキューバダイビングをはじめとする観光業や漁業などの経済活動が行われているが,その利用にあたっては異なる業種間での利害の対立や軋轢などがあり,沿岸資源管理の効率を妨げている。これまでに,日本各地でこのような対立が個別に発生し,各地で解決のための努力がなされてきたが,本研究では,これらの事例を横断的に比較することにより,両者が協調して海域の資源管理を行うためにどのような要件が必要かを明らかにすることを試みた。その結果,解決に至る共通点として①観光業者と漁業者が共同して協議会組織を設立し調整の場を設けること,②観光客(ダイバー)から利用料を徴収して保全活動を行うこと,の2点が特に有効であると考えられることがわかった。そして,この環境保全に関する料金徴収の仕組みを,類似する「生態系サービスへの支払い(payment for ecosystem services : PES)」制度と比較検討することにより,PESの概念をさらに発展的に適用することで,より効果的な沿岸生態系保全・管理スキームへと発展させ得る可能性が示唆された。
