The catastrophic loss of aquatic life in the Central European Oder River 2022, caused by a toxic bloom haptophyte microalga Prymnesium parvum (in wide sense, s.l.), underscores need to improve our understanding genomic basis toxin. Previous morphological, phylogenetic, and studies have revealed cryptic diversity within P. s.l. uncovered three clade-specific (types A, B, C) prymnesin toxins. Here, we used state-of-the-art long-read sequencing assembled first haplotype-resolved diploid genome...

Genomic DNAs of clinical and environmental isolates Legionella pneumophila belonging to serogroups 3 4 were analyzed by macrorestriction analysis pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. The restriction enzymes SfiI NotI allowed easy visual separation epidemiologically unrelated serogroup strains. Three strains that isolated from different locations identical this genome mapping technique. Five separable electrophoretic patterns obtained after or cleavage the DNA four patients with...

Rare cases of extrapulmonary involvement in Legionella spp. infections have been described, mostly immunocompromised adults. We report a case 2-month old male with reticular dysgenesis variant severe combined immune deficiency multiple liver lesions. Core-needle biopsies one lesion demonstrated Gram-negative bacilli and broad-spectrum polymerase chain reaction assay detected pneumophila .
