The mRNA vaccine Comirnaty and the inactivated CoronaVac are both available in Hong Kong’s COVID-19 vaccination programme. We observed waning antibody levels 850 fully vaccinated (at least 14 days passed after second dose) blood donors using ELISA surrogate virus neutralisation test. Comirnaty-vaccinated group’s (n = 593) remained over sVNT positive cut-offs within first 6 months. CoronaVac-vaccinated 257) median began to fall below 4 months vaccination.

Abstract Both inactivated vaccine (CoronaVac; Sinovac) and mRNA (Comirnaty/BNT162b2; Fosun-Pharma/BioNTech) are available in Hong Kong’s COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. We reported waning antibody levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) surrogate virus neutralization test (sVNT) among 850 fully vaccinated blood donors (i.e., received two doses). The BNT162b2 group’s remain over the 50% protection threshold within six months, CoronaVac’s median begin to fall below months after...

Abstract The Polio eradication campaign has been set back substantially since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent detections of poliovirus transmission in multiple high-income countries suggest suboptimal population immunity many parts world even though polio vaccination included routine childhood immunization for decades. We reviewed schedules and vaccine uptake Western Pacific Region assessed potential shortfall against resurgence across these populations. In addition, we conducted a...
