The application of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) in drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging, cell tracking, and hyperthermia has been long exploited regarding their inducible properties. Nevertheless, SPIONs remain rapidly cleared from the circulation by reticuloendothelial system (RES) or mononuclear phagocyte system, with uptake dependent on several factors such as hydrodynamic diameter, electrical charge surface coating. This rapid clearance SPION-based theranostic...
Besides the study and medical application of iron oxide nanoparticles, ferrites produced with zinc manganese are particular interest for their properties. The introduction these elements into crystalline structure magnetic particle generates some changes in material properties, enhancing potential use theranostic applications. This review will cover most important aspects preparation materials, taking account different methods synthesis, analyze promising results MRI, hyperthermia other emerging
Versatile methods are here presented for the assembling of magnetic nanoparticles in controlled super-structures with different final aspect ratios. The first step procedure is based on destabilization, and consequently clustering, a dextran-coated suspension, altering colloidal stability initial building blocks. Subsequently, second polysaccharide shell, chitosan, grafted to super-structure surface, stopping aggregation enhancing resulting assembly. For achieving finer control process,...
