The tetranuclear MnIV adamantane-like complex [Mn4O6(bpea)4](ClO4)4(1(ClO4)4) was isolated from a comproportionation reaction of Mn(ClO4)2·6H2O and [n-Bu4N][MnO4] with the ligand N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylamine (bpea) in acetonitrile. Characterization by X-ray crystallography reveals that [Mn4O6(bpea)4]4+ cation approaches S4 point symmetry. There are three distinct types Mn−N bonds two bridging oxo ligands 1. 1H NMR protonation studies 1 acetonitrile reveal each type bridge renders...

In methanol, the reaction of Mn(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O and 1,2-bis(biacetylmonoximeimino)ethane (H(2)bamen) in presence triethylamine affords a trinuclear complex having formula [Mn(3)(mu(3)-O)(mu(3)-bamen)(3)]ClO(4).2H(2)O. The structure this shows symmetric planar central [Mn(III)(3)(mu(3)-O)] unit coordinated to three hexadentate bridging (via oximate groups) ligands. N(4)O(3) coordination sphere around each metal center is very close pentagonal-bipyramidal. A cyclic voltammogram displays two...
