The assumption behind this pilot study is that metrical feet are not ‘groups of syllables’ or ‘interstress intervals’ but rather vowels’ extracted from the phonetic material contained between two stresses. The purpose of the study was to analyse human identification Polish vowels from static and dynamic durationally slowed visual cues. A total 152 participants identified 6 produced by 4 speakers (still images) (videos) results show that 59% 63% were successfully identified.
