Plasma vasopressin levels were measured during open-heart surgery in nine children. The control value of was 5.5 +/- 1.5 (s.e.mean) microU/ml. During extracorporeal circulation, a maximum 7.3-fold increase plasma level demonstrated. This high considered to have circulatory effects rather than anti-diuretic effects.

The thrombotic tendency in two breeds of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) was assessed by inducing occlusive thrombosis pial blood vessels using a helium-neon laser method. A prothrombotic state observed the SHR one breed as compared to corresponding control WKY, but not other. Circulating platelet and erythrocyte counts haematocrit values were significantly negatively correlated arterioles with number pulses, which is an index tendency, suggesting that partly dependent on components....

The activity of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) during rhythm action game was measured using near-infrared spectroscopy. Participants were classified into two groups (Skilled and Novice) based on their skill in game, three levels difficulty (easy, medium, difficult) imposed participants as experimental tasks. Changes oxygenated hemoglobin PFC spectroscopy, effect playing activation/deactivation examined. Activation lateral observed Skilled group when played medium difficult levels, whereas it...

We have applied our developed fiber-optic laser-Doppler anemometer microscope (FLDAM) for the study of cerebral microcirculation in rat. The red cell velocity single pial microvessels was successfully measured through a closed cranial window vessel diameter range from 7.8 to 230 µm. temporal resolution FLDAM sufficiently high detect pulsation arterioles. Arterio-venous distributions mean and wall shear rate are also descri bed.
