Cutting parameters play an essential role in the economics of machining. In this paper, particle swarm optimization (PSO), a novel algorithm for cutting (CPO), was discussed comprehensively. First, fundamental principle PSO introduced; then, application developed; thirdly, experiments without and with optimized were conducted to demonstrate effectiveness optimization, respectively. The results show that machining process improved obviously.
To improve low lapping efficiency of silicon nitride balls in conventional process, fixed abrasive technology for ceramic is investigated this paper. Diamond abrasives and photosensitive resin are used to fabricate the plate. The lapped ball surface observed with microscopy identify dominant wear mechanism. results show that material removal rate about 20 times free roughness close one. experimental indicate a promising process instead rough semi-finishing process.
In order to optimize static performance of a new orifices compensated externally pressurized gas spherical bearing, the paper presents theoretical study using finite element method (FEM).
