The chromosomal characteristics, locations and variations of the C-band positive heterochromatin telomeric DNA sequences were studied in European grayling karyotype (Thymallus thymallus, Salmonidae) using conventional C-banding, endonucleases digestion banding, silver nitrate (AgNO3), chromomycin A3 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole staining techniques as well fluorescence situ hybridization (FISH) primed labelling. Original data on distribution segments resistant to AluI restriction...
The purpose of this study was to analyse the influence water salinity on incubation eggs and growth larvae sichel Pelecus cultratus (L.) under controlled conditions. following considered: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 0 ppt for control. time depended salinity, lasting from 56.3°D [9 ppt] 107.7°D [0 ppt]. higher shorter time. highest survivability obtained in equal 3 freshwater, where respectively 87% 84% survived. No hatched were 12 ppt, as all embryos died during experiment. Larvae reared up 21 days....
The Water Framework Directive (WFD) provides the basis for developing a system to protect and restore aquatic environment. Macrophytes are one of groups organisms determining ecological status lakes. Using partial least squares regression (PLS-R), we showed relationships between conductivity chlorophyll (to lesser extent nutrient concentrations) Ecological State Macrophyte Index (ESMI) values. However, catchment land use/cover (LU/LC) appears be important factor affecting macrophyte...
Aim of the study was to determine effect initial larval density on growth and survival common barbel Barbus barbus (L.) under controlled conditions. The experiment examined fish from 20 200 ind. L−1 during intensive rearing at 25°C. Rearing lasted 21 days whereby average total length, weight were recorded. During entire period fed live nauplii Artemia sp. data provided basis for calculating specific rate (SGR), Fulton’s condition index (K), analysis relationship between biomass stocking...
Abstract During the last 10 years, stickleback has emerged as a promising model system in several biological fields. In particular, it is one of most investigated fish groups by evolutionary biologists, for understanding genetic and molecular basis processes adaptive radiation, microevolution development, well sex determination. To provide karyological information about we performed cytogenetic analysis threespine (Gasterosteus aculeatus L.) ninespine (Pungitius pungitius L.). Diploid...
Lakes provide different ecosystem services, including those related to tourism and recreation. Sustainable development principles should be respected in lake planning. The aim of this study was assess the impact on lakeshore zone a typical post-glacial Lakeland Northern Poland (Central Europe). An explanatory analysis distribution individual spatial factor values performed using SHapley Additive exPlanations algorithm (SHAP). In first step, select Machine Learning model for modelling based...
(1) Background: This paper presents the land use and cover change processes in lakeshore zone Poland Hungary during 30 years. (2) Methods: Land (LU/LC) maps were prepared using topographic orthophotograph scaled 1:10,000. The study based on GIS data field research. (3) Results: A significant increase area occupied by tourist recreational infrastructure forests lake shore was found both countries. In Poland, this occurred mainly at expense of arable land, which a positive phenomenon. Hungary,...
Feeding and food selection of burbot (Lota lota L.) larvae reared in illuminated cages were studied. The experiment was carried out mesotrophic Lake Maróz, north-eastern Poland, for 6 weeks two successive years. initial stocking density 1,250 (20 DPH) per cage. Food according to the zooplankton groups (Rotifera, Cladocera Copepoda) length classes expressed by Strauss linear selectivity index (L). Zooplankton species composition lake similar seasons study organisms shorter than 0.5 mm...
Abstract Chromosomes of Siamese fighting fish Betta splendens were examined by Giemsa, CMA3 and Ag-NOR. The karyotype consisted 6 pairs submetacentric, 7 subtelocentric 8 acrocentric chromosomes (2n=42, NF=54). NORs observed at two submetacentric pairs, nos. 1 6, telomeric regions the short arms. Betta's seems to have a derived status when compared most species order Perciformes.
Morphology of hybrids between the goldfish (Carassius auratus) and common carp (Cyprinus carpio) are studied by biometric meristic methods. Additionally, histological analyses concerning gonads as well genetic characteristics chromosomes performed. Studied were morphologically very similar to a but possessed one pair reduced posterior barbels. Most indices had intermediate values when compared parental species. Histological study showed that investigated produce with germ cells. All males at...
The ontogeny of the digestive tract was studied histologically in burbot, Lota lota L., from hatching to 42 days post-hatch (dph). At hatching, consisted a straight tube with discernible accessory glands (the liver and pancreas) dorsally attached yolk sac. Most sac reserves were consumed during first 12 completely depleted by 17 dph. PAS-positive goblet cells appeared at 6 dph, dispersed within epithelium oesophagus increasing substantially number distribution as development progressed....
Larvae of sichel Pelecus cultratus (L.) were reared up on natural food (Artemia sp.nauplii), after a certain time replaced by dry feed (Perla -Skretting).The rearing was conducted in aquaria the capacity 50 dm 3 each working closed, water recirculation system. The larvae for 21 days five nutrition groups: P21dry only, A4P17 -4 Artemia followed 17 feed; A8P13 -8 nauplii 13 A12P9 -12 9 feed, and A21-Artemia throughout whole experiment. The assessment effect substituting with based size reached...
This paper focuses on the qualitative and quantitative characterization of zooplankton in a section Nida (the Upper Wkra) River subjected to revitalization treatments. At four established sites, biological samples were taken for analyses. In total, 44 taxa determiend collected material. The upper Wkra River, along which two sites set up, was general more varied species composition, structure biocenosis shaped by rotifers protozoa (mainly ameba species) nearly equal halves. other sampling...
Abstract Feeding habits of larval pike, Esox lucius L., was studied at three stocking densities in illuminated cages. Developmental patterns feeding on Zooplankton were independent density. During the first week rearing, larvae fed mainly rotifers, small cladocerans, nauplii and copepodites Cyclopidae. After second they selected cladocerans (Bosmina spp.), adult copepods (Cyclops Mesocyclops spp.). Higher resulted lower survival growth rates. This presumably due to increased competition for...
Abstract Feeding during the development of Eurasian perch (Perca fluviatilis) larvae was studied in situ cylindrical cages. Initially were maintained cages, 0.2 mm mesh size. The initial stocking density 7 000 per cage. Fish fed with Zooplankton and after 17 days transplanted to cages a larger size (1.2 mm). Development observed for additional days. Larval survival about 25% 65% secondary rearing, respectively. Perch ate initially rotifers later nauplii copepodites. Cladocera dominant food...

Six microsatellite loci were used to examine the genetic variability of Russian sturgeon and sterlet cultured in a Polish fish farm. Within 47 individuals 35 sterlet, total 113 alleles detected six polymorphic loci. The number per locus ranged from 9 23 3–8 sterlet. diversity varied 0.404 0.880 0.515 0.971 Microsatellite analysis has great potential for aquaculture fishes, especially when levels variation could be monitored inbreeding controlled commercial breeding programs.
