The hydrophilic bile salt ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) protects against the membrane-damaging effects associated with hydrophobic acids. This study was undertaken to (a) determine if UDCA inhibits apoptosis from deoxycholic (DCA), as well ethanol, TGF-beta1, Fas ligand, and okadaic acid; (b) whether mitochondrial membrane perturbation is modulated by UDCA. DCA induced significant hepatocyte in vivo isolated hepatocytes determined terminal transferase-mediated dUTP-digoxigenin nick...
Acute lung injury (ALI), which poses a significant public health threat, is commonly caused by sepsis. ALI associated with permeability and glycolysis changes in pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells. Our study demonstrates that heparin-binding protein (HBP), released from neutrophils during sepsis, exacerbates glycolysis, thereby triggering ALI. Through coimmunoprecipitation mass spectrometry, TRIM21 was identified as HBP interaction partner. Notably, enhances the stability of...
Abstract Background Soluble CD40 ligand (sCD40L) exhibits proinflammatory and procoagulant effects. Recent data indicated that sCD40L plays a significant role in septic patients. The aim of the present study was to determine changes surgical patients without sepsis (SWS) (SS) during first 3 days after intensive care unit (ICU) admission observe association between mortality. Methods Time levels were assessed for ICU 49 with SS compared those 19 SWS Serum concentration detected by ELISA....
Abstract Background Vascular endothelial dysfunction is considered a key pathophysiologic process for the development of acute lung injury. In this study, we aimed at investigating effects unfractionated heparin (UFH) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced changes vascular endothelial-cadherin (VE-cadherin) and potential underlying mechanisms. Methods Male C57BL/6 J mice were randomized into three groups: vehicle, LPS, LPS + UFH groups. Intraperitoneal injection 30 mg/kg was used to induce...
