Fluoroquinolones (FQs) and tetracyclines (TCs), the two β-diketone antibiotics (DKAs), are frequently detected pollutants in environment; however, little data available on their combined toxicity to zebrafish (Danio rerio). This study reports that toxicologic effects of DKA (FQs-TCs) exposure were comparable with or slightly less than those TCs alone, showing played a major role mixtures. The FQs, TCs, DKAs malformation rates dose dependent, EC50 values 481.3, 16.4, 135.1 mg/L, respectively....

Heparanase, a heparan sulfate (HS)–specific endoglycosidase, plays an important role in inflammation and mediates acute pulmonary renal injuries during sepsis. To explore its septic intestinal injury, non-anticoagulant heparanase inhibitor, N-desulfated/re- N-acetylated heparin (NAH), was administrated to mouse sepsis model induced by cecal ligation puncture (CLP). Immunohistochemical staining revealed massive shedding of HS from the mucosal surfaces after CLP, effective inhibition NAH...

Promoting the browning of white fat may be a potential means combating obesity. Therefore, in this study, we investigated effect resveratrol (RES) on body weight and high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese mice associated mechanism vivo. Eight-week-old male were randomized to receive different treatments: (1), chow without any additional treatment (chow); (2), plus 0.4% (chow-RES); (3), HFD (HFD); (4), (HFD-RES). After 4 weeks feeding, 8-week-old recipient randomly allocated following (5),...

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a major anionic phospholipid constituent of membrane bilayers, which specifically enriched in the cytoplasmic leaflet, has functions regulating intracellular signaling pathways neuronal survival and differentiation, acts as neurotransmitter to control activity neurons. Oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions could improve bio-availability PS. Thus, there high level interest PS emulsion because its purported health benefits. However, viscosity poor fluidity, it remains...

High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) causes microvascular endothelial cell barrier dysfunction during acute lung injury (ALI) in sepsis, but the mechanisms have not been well understood. We studied roles of RAGE and Rho kinase (ROCK1) HMGB1-induced human pulmonary disruption. In present study, recombinant high (rhHMGB1) was used to stimulate cells (HPMECs). The (EC) permeability examined by detecting FITC-dextran flux. CCK-8 assay detect viability under rhHMGB1 treatments. expression related...

Browning of white adipose tissues (WAT) is recognized as a novel way to combat obesity and its related comorbidities. Thus, lot dietary agents contributing browning WAT have been identified. In this study, we try explore the mechanism induced by resveratrol (Res) in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. The levels cell viability lipid accumulation were evaluated under different concentrations Res. Cell signaling pathway analysis was performed investigate possible mechanisms effect Res cells. We found that brown...

Sepsis is the leading cause of death in intensive care units. MicroRNA-34a (miR-34a) involved sepsis progression, while its underlying mechanisms on sepsis-induced lung injury remain obscure. Oxidative stress, pyroptosis and inhibition autophagy can result organ injury. MiR-34a has been reported to regulate oxidative stress via inhibiting silent information regulator T1 (SIRT1) gene 4B (ATG4B) signaling. This study aimed at identifying function miR-34a inflammation, Male 8-week-old C57BL/6...

To investigate whether resveratrol could ameliorate the hepatic steatosis in high-fat diet (HFD) fed mice by modulating gut microbiota composition, fecal transplantation (FMT) was utilized this study. Our results showed that significantly ameliorated HFD mice, increased gene expression of fasting-induced adipose factor, and decreased lipogenesis-related genes proteins (SREBP-1, FAS ACC). In addition, reversed HFD-induced dysbiosis, with an increase relative abundance Bacteroidetes a decrease...
