Hemodynamic instability is frequent in high-risk infants admitted to neonatal intensive care units. However, monitoring and treatment strategies of those conditions might show variations among the units.Different factors can compromise hemodynamic status preterm/ term infants.Treatment options mostly include volume replacement, inotropes and/or vasopressors (dopamine, dobutamine, epinephrine milrinone) hydrocortisone. In general, these treatments are driven by predetermined protocols, which...

Objective This study investigated the effect of lullabies and classical music on preterm neonates’ cerebral oxygenation, vital signs, comfort during orogastric (OG) tube feeding. Methods was a parallel-group pretest-posttest randomized controlled study. The research conducted between December 2020 May 2022. sample consisted 51 neonates hospitalized in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Selçuk University Faculty Medicine Hospital Konya, Türkiye. Participants were into three groups (17...

Activation of adenosine A1 receptors has neuroprotective effects in animal stroke models. Adenosine levels are regulated by nucleoside transporters. In vitro studies showed that neuron-specific expression human equilibrative transporter 1 (hENT1) decreases extracellular and receptor activity. this study, we tested the effect hENT1 on cortical infarct size following intracerebral injection vasoconstrictor endothelin-1 (ET-1) or saline.Mice underwent stereotaxic intracortical ET-1 (1 μl; 400...

Morgagni hernia (MH) is the least common type of congenital diaphragmatic hernias. Although its course often asymptomatic, it may be associated with various respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms. We describe 7 children MH during a 5-year period in three pediatric centers Turkey. All had acute or chronic symptoms; cough was most frequent. The diagnosis made by posterior-anterior (PA) lateral chest X-rays. PA X-rays showed homogenous mass 2 gas-filled cystic image 3 right cardiophrenic...

Brucellosis can present initially with its haematological findings including anaemia, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia may mimic primary diseases. We two patients complaints of severe epistaxis isolated which was diagnosed as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura but finally attributed to brucellosis. Their platelet count reverted normal within 2–3 weeks initiating antibrucellosis treatment recovery from the disease.

Purpose: The present study was conducted to determine the effect of odor stimulation with breast milk (BM) applied premature newborns before and during enteral feeding on cues, transition time oral abdominal perfusion. Design: This a parallel group pretest-post test randomised controlled trial (RCT). Methods: in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Türkiye. Study data were collected from 32 between October 2020 December 2021. Newborns randomly assigned either intervention ( n = 16) or control...

Abstract Background : The present study aims to test the effect of Safe Individualized Nipple‐Feeding Competence (SINC) protocol on preterm infants’ weight gain, transition oral feeding, and duration hospitalization. Methods procedure was designed as a single‐blind, parallel‐group randomized controlled trial. trial conducted in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Konya, Turkey. Data were collected from 80 infants between February 2018 March 2019. Infants (gestational weeks 28–33) randomly...

Monitoring and evaluating the skin temperature value are considerably important for neonates. A system detecting diseases without any harmful radiation in early stages could be developed thanks to thermography. This study is aimed at healthy/unhealthy neonates neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). We used 40 different thermograms belonging 20 healthy unhealthy Thermograms were exported thermal maps, subsequently, maps converted a segmented map. Local binary pattern fast correlation-based...
